With this discerning panel of judges, subtle was the name of the game for the bronzer category, and this powder, in lightweight paper packaging with a removable mirror, won the crowd over. It made a bronzer convert out of our beauty director, Katie Becker, thanks to the superfine velvety powder and “tan but not cheesy” effect. While there’s a hint of light-reflective particles, it somehow never reads like shimmer, and the three shade choices were all natural-looking so multiple skin tones can use it.
Our judges loved the sheerness of this liquid contour from Giorgio Armani’s new “no makeup makeup” line Neo Nude (judge Marianna Hewitt has been a huge fan since its launch this summer). The formula, which comes in two shades, can also be used for bronzer, but the judges liked it best for contour. Daniel Martin suggests a small buffing brush for a really natural finish.
There was plenty of color payoff in these dual-shade bronzers, which come in three different colorways. Because there’s a lighter and darker color on either side of the pan, you can easily customize the bronzer or contour look you prefer. And the tiniest amount of glimmer is so subtle you might wonder if you’re just imagining it. We also like the fun yin-yang design.
