“Strawberry Girl Makeup” Is Surprisingly Really Easy to Recreate

Here’s how to achieve the look.

Graphic of Strawberry Girl Makeup Trend

On August 5, Hailey Bieber shared a beauty tutorial on TikTok breaking down how she achieved an everyday “strawberry girl makeup” look. To no one’s surprise, Bieber started a trend and soon enough, content creators began sharing their own version of this fruit-inspired makeup trend. Now, the “strawberry girl makeup” trend has racked up over 23 million views on TikTok.

The “strawberry girl makeup” look is reminiscent of the “I’m Cold” makeup trend that went viral last winter; the latter is centered around a blush-heavy look featuring shimmery accents on your eyelids and cheekbones. With the strawberry-inspired look, the main point of differentiation is adding freckles to mimic the seeds of an actual strawberry. While this may sound a bit bizarre to want to recreate a look inspired by strawberries, it’s actually quite cute and simple to recreate. Given that this makeup look doesn’t require a lot of foundation or even any at all, it’s an ideal choice for those extra hot summer days.

How to Achieve the “Strawberry Girl Makeup” Look

First, you want to make sure your skin is prepped and primed. Glow Recipe’s Strawberry BHA Pore-Smooth Blur Drops are coincidentally an ideal choice to use for your “strawberry girl makeup” base. The lightweight formula quickly absorbs into skin, minimizing the look of pores, and serves as a beautiful base layer for a low-makeup look. Instead of foundation, opt for a lightweight tinted skin tint or moisturizer such as Sönage’s Roux Tinted Day Créme. Using a smooth and blendable stick—like this one from Westman Atelier—contour the areas that you want to sculpt and blend it out for a sunkissed look. Following that, apply a creamy and silky concealer on any areas that need more love. This one by Yensa has been one of my go-tos during the summer—a little bit goes a long way and it’s one of the few concealers I’ve tried that doesn’t crease.

The next key step to perfecting the “strawberry girl makeup” aesthetic is to find the perfect berry-hued blush. Celebrity makeup artist Elaina Badro recommends “using two cream blushes, a light pink shade and dark hue, and thoroughly blending them together”. Consider opting for LYS Beauty Higher Standard Satin Matte Cream Blush or Neen’s Going Rouge Get It All Done Cream Cheek and Lip i for the perfect strawberry-inspired blush. Pro-tip: Feel free to generously apply blush to your cheeks and nose bridge – it’s this berry flush that truly enhances the charm of the “strawberry girl makeup” look. To add a bit more glow to your face, use a sheer and creamy highlighting stick, like this one from Kevyn Aucoin, to any areas that you want to emphasize.

If you’re blessed with beautiful freckles, you can skip this next step, which happens to be the most important part of this whole look: adding faux freckles to mimic the look of strawberry seeds. Content creator Rudi Berry’s brand B&Rudi sells a Berry Freckled Pen that does just that. “Add small clusters of freckles around your nose then stamp them out so they look natural,” says Berry. “The places on your face where the sun hits first are the perfect spot for freckles such as your nose, cheeks, and outer eye area.”

Next, shape your brows with a volumizing brow gel then add a sweep of bronzer or blush over your eyelids. Coat your lashes with a lengthening mascara from Thrive Causemetics and add a soft-winged liner near the lash line.

To finalize the look, go bold with a berry lip. The Bisou Balm from Violette FR is a stunning and hydrating lipstick-meets-balm hybrid that is buildable so you can add as much or as little as you want. Top things off with a hydrating lip gloss, and voilà, you now have all the steps you need to achieve the berry-focused “strawberry girl makeup” look just before summer ends!
