Rachel Zegler’s Stylist Takes Us Behind the Scenes of Last Night's Critics’ Choice Awards Prep
On the playlist? Taylor Swift & Saucy Santana.

“I’ll be dreaming about this one for a long, long time,” says celebrity stylist Sarah Slutsky of her client Rachel Zegler’s look for the Critics’ Choice Awards last night. The star, whom you might know from the highly lauded West Side Story cast, settled on a princess-like, sea-foam green gown, custom-made by Christian Dior’s Maria Grazia Chiuri. Though the look only just graced the red carpet, Slutsky and her team have been at work for months, creating highly researched mood boards, exchanging notes with the Dior team to land on the perfect shade of green, and aligning with hair and makeup to complete the ‘50s-esque vibe of the ensemble—and don't forget the glittering Tiffany & Co. jewelry!
Day-of, it’s about celebrating the journey (and making sure nothing goes wrong). When in doubt? Check, double-check, and triple-check. Despite all the chaos, Slutsky says, “I still pinch myself every morning that this is my job.” Below, the stylist takes us behind the scenes of the getting-ready process as she shares what it’s like to prepare for an awards show.Photos: Courtesy of Sarah Slutsky
