When you think of the most memorable celebrity fashion moments over the past decade, chances are those moments didn’t occur on a magazine cover—they happened on the red carpet. And when it comes to those striking red carpet looks, it's likely that makeup artist Nina Park was behind some of your favorites. Originally from Chicago and now based in New York City, her love from makeup came from her constantly flipping throw magazines at a very young age. With a pen, she would update the models' looks: a reshaped eyebrow here, and revamped lashes there, for example. She went on to study makeup at L'école de Maquillage Fleurimon in Paris and went on to learn from legends like Peter Philips and Diane Kendal first hand. In 2014, she started establishing her very own client list.

Now, her pared-down yet striking approach to beauty can be seen on her clients including Emma Stone, Zoë Kravitz, Lily-Rose Depp, Greta Lee, Mia Goth, Kaia Gerber, and Addison Rae to name only a few. Lately, her impact has reached TikTok, essentially taking over the makeup side of the app. Enter the Nina Park effect, characterized by a skin first approach, focusing on glow and luminosity—essentially, hydration is crucial. Other key factors include a fluffy eyebrows, soft eyeliner, pillowy and blurred lip sans liner for the sake of a more natural, lived-in look. Her TikTok takeover is representative of a general shift towards more natural looks, whether that be through dissolving lip filler or letting wild, unruly brows take their natural course. Now, makeup artists and aspiring ones alike are making tutorials inspired by Park’s style and ethos—that’s how big and far her influence has gone.

Ahead, the makeup artist of the moment shares 6 of her go-to skincare and makeup products.
