8 Tinted Lip Balms for Flushed, Hydrated Lips

A juicy pout is in your future.

By: Hannah Baxter

I have no shortage of beauty products in my lineup, but if I could only use one for the rest of my days, it would most definitely be a tinted lip balm. There’s nothing prettier than a subtle flush of color on your lips—almost as if you just ate a popsicle—plus the added benefit of moisturizing ingredients that prevent dehydration and irritation. You can even swipe it onto your cheeks for a dewy, natural-looking blush. The best part of all: Even the most glamorous formula on the market will cost you significantly less than your favorite lipstick. It’s the multipurpose heavy-hitter product that belongs in your makeup bag, your car, and in every purse you own. Here are the eight formulas I’m obsessed with right now.

Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Rose, $5

This lip balm is perfect in every way—moisturizing, a flush of color, and long-lasting. It’s also crazy-affordable and looks gorgeous on every skin tone, so I recommend stocking up (this shade is often sold out). You won’t regret it.

Tata Harper Be Adored Tinted Anti-aging Neuropeptide Lip Treatment, $32

If you want a little extra volume in your lips, plus a dose of nourishing anti-aging ingredients, this rosy lippie is for you. It’s pretty much the most luxe clean formula you’ll find.

Honest Tinted Lip Balm in Blood Orange, $9

The perfect orangey-red mix, this shade is ideal for the summer months ahead, while still keeping your lips soft and hydrated.

Lancôme Juicy Tubes Original Lip Gloss, $20

OK, sure, this is technically lip gloss, but anyone who grew up in the ’90s knows that Juicy Tubes were the ultimate makeup essential. Now it’s been re-released as a limited-edition launch. Nourishing vitamin E keeps your lips hydrated, and the colors are just as delicious as they were 25 years ago.

Tower28 BeachPlease Tinted Lip + Cheek Balm in Magic Hour, $20

A two-for-one product you need in your makeup arsenal. This creamy balm looks just as pretty on your lips as it does on your cheeks, and this color in particular is the ideal shade for a flushed, summery look.

Dr. Paw Paw Multipurpose Soothing Balm in Peach Pink, $8

This balm is an Australian beauty staple, and now there are tinted versions that give your lips a healthy wash of color while still locking in moisture with pawpaw (papaya) fruit, aloe vera, and olive oil.

Vertly Lip Butter, $24

If you’re experiencing any extra irritation from the dry indoor air, consider adding this CBD-infused balm into your beauty routine. It also contains three different butters and four oils to help your lips look and feel their best.

Kosas KosasSport Lip Fuel Hyaluronic Lip Balm in Pulse, $18

Aside from being a seriously pretty shade, this balm has hyaluronic acid to keep your lips deeply hydrated, while tingly mint invigorates and soothes. The konjac root also creates a gel-like barrier to prevent your lips from drying out.
