Lili Reinhart Swears By This Acne-Safe Moisturizer
Plus, the reality show she's committed to, the last book she finished and the natural deodorant she says actually works.

When Lili Reinhart isn't on set, reading scripts, sitting front row at New York Fashion Week, or binging an off the grid podcast about former Disney World employees and their crazy anecdotes that she, to this day, can't track down, she's building a skincare brand that she wishes she had access to growing up. Reinhart developed acne at the age of 12 and, as many of us have experienced, felt overwhelmed by the prescriptions being written for her and the products being recommended. "I was given the same prescription that they give every young person who comes in with acne and it never did anything," she said. "I also have incredibly sensitive skin, so everything was irritating and my skin just kept getting worse as I got older."
In her twenties, in the midst of trying a flurry of products, some that helped but mostly some that hurt, she continued to follow in the footsteps of all of those with acne who came before her: she went on Accutane. And, despite all of the trial and error and despite doing and taking everything prescribed to her, her acne persisted.
The frustration from the lack of results despite technically doing everything right led to Reinhart creating her very own skincare line, Personal Day, a brand that she and those in a similar position can rely on, trust, and use on a daily basis. "Our line is free of acne triggering ingredients, and that's our number one thing," she said. "But it was also really important for the brand to have these pillars of compassion and empathy for yourself and for your skin. I think there's a lot of shame that comes with acne, and I'm such a mental health advocate, so we wanted make sure that we acknowledge the mental side effects of acne and champion people who are going through that experience to support them through that journey. Because it's hard." And that's why the name Personal Day was selected: because it encompasses the self-care and mental health elements that Reinhart is so passionate about championing.
Personal Day
On the day of Personal Day's launch, I had the opportunity to sit down with Reinhart at Ulta Beauty and ask about the products, media, and food that she's loyal to. And, if you want try her skincare line but don't know where exactly to start, I have the inside scoop for you: "If you want to dip your toes in, I would say start with our Full Clarity Cleansing Powder,” she says.
