This Stylist Is Unafraid to Mix Lingerie with Ladylike Separates
Here's everything she wore on a recent trip to London.

Welcome to Style Diaries, a new series where we research the physical manifestations of our closet tours IRL. We're asking friends and tastemakers to show us what they're *actually* wearing during the week and to provide a little insight into their thoughts on the current state of fashion. This week we are speaking with stylist and creative consultant Becky Akinyode. Her style knows no boundaries, but she always finds ways to tone down ultra-sexy items with contrastingly ladylike pieces in an intriguing way.
What does your style *actually* look like right now?
"My style is ever-changing, but the one thing that stays consistent is that I always like a little bit of glam. This summer I decided that it would be nice to try and dress a little sexier just to see how it would make me feel. It's nice to switch things up and have fun with fashion."
Day 1:
"I'm in London staying with friends and headed to lunch at Ikoyi, which is this fantastic restaurant that I've been trying to eat at for ages. The look is giving modern-day Romeo energy. I started the day knowing that I wanted to wear the Molly Goddard shawl, so I put together an outfit that matched its vibe. It looks very Shakespearian, which I love! I felt very romantic and sexy."

Do you have a go-to outfit formula, or do you prefer to switch it up when getting dressed?
"I like to switch it up when I get dressed. Sometimes I wake up knowing what I want to wear. Other times it takes me a while, and my room ends up getting trashed in the process."
Day 2:
"The weather is nice today, so I figured it would be a great time to wear this set from Sherris, a brand based in NYC. The designer is sooooo sweet—she made this top by hand and worked super hard to get the fit right! I wore this outfit to the Tate Modern to see the Rodin exhibit. Again, my mood this summer is sex—although I brought a button-up top with me in case I got cold in the museum."

What energy are you bringing to your ensembles this summer? What are you looking forward to wearing?
"Sexy rich bitch. I kind of shopped a lot in the last year, which is why I'm on a self-imposed shopping ban. Although I just bought all this Alighieri jewelry while I was in London, so honestly, I might just give up on the ban. Some of the things I purchased that I'm super excited to wear are: this cute taffeta top from Renaissance Renaissance—the designer, Cynthia, is a friend and her clothes are amazing!—my new Collina Strada bow sweatpants, MNZ bralettes, and scrunchies. I also bought these Margiela Tabi Sandals that I'm obsessed with."
Day 3:
"Another sunny day in London! My friend's apartment gets a lot of light; I woke up in the morning feeling refreshed and really wanted to wear color. The lime-green bra set is from Baserange, and I love this Taash skirt—a brand under Issey Miyake portfolio that I recently discovered. I planned to spend the day out and about going to check out the Jenniffer Packer show at the Serpentine and an event at the Alighieri showroom after. With this outfit, I'm playing with volume. I love the sleeves of this AZ factory jacket. I love the late Alber Elbaz—his time at Lanvin was iconic. The elegant structure of the coat helps balance the sexiness of the rest of the outfit… I'm basically naked, but it's fashun."

In terms of beauty, what does your go-to hair and makeup routine look like, and how does that change based on what you're wearing?
"I don't wear that much makeup. I'm more into skin care. My hair is constantly changing right now. I have a weave that references the Japanese princess cut. I hadn't gotten a weave in like, two years, but I really wanted a change—long hair, don't care. For makeup, I usually just use concealer, eyeliner, highlighter, and a lip. The only thing that changes is the lip. I like lipsticks and glosses from Nars and CHANEL!"
