Inside Autumn Adeigbo’s Inspired and Joyful “Everyday” Style
How the designer mixes her own label with other favorites.

Welcome to Style Diaries, a new series where we research the physical manifestations of our closet tours IRL. We're asking friends and tastemakers to show us what they're *actually* wearing during the week and to provide a little insight into their thoughts on the current state of fashion. This week, designer Autumn Adeigbo gives us a look at her distinctly colorful and personal style over a few typical workdays. The L.A.-based creative weaves in designs from her eponymous label—one that takes inspiration from her Nigerian heritage and is grounded in sustainable practices—with a mix of contemporary, luxury, and vintage pieces. Each result is a truly inspired look that’s a blend of tradition and modernity and nods to the future of fashion, too.
What role does fashion play in your life? How does it serve you?
“Fashion is my everything. It’s my career, it’s the most exciting part of my day (getting dressed), it’s my creative outlet, and it has made a name for me in the world. It serves me by paying my bills, keeping me inspired, and supporting a lot of other organizations (factories, mills, agencies, team members, retailers, and artisans) around the world! While allowing the AA tribe (the Autumn Adeigbo community) to stand out boldly, colorfully, and artistically with their fashion choices.”
Look 1:
“This is an everyday work look for when I want to feel warm but special and comfortable. I’m always on the go, so comfort without sacrificing style is important to me. This AA cardigan is currently my favorite thing in our collection (which is saying a lot!), and I love the brown neutral trend happening right now in fashion. The AA shoes are my personal favorite from our shoe launch. The Bottega chain bag was my congrats to myself for a year of hard work. You have to celebrate success!”

What does your style look like these days? What are the priorities that inform your expression of personal style?
“My style usually includes something from my collection because I like bright, bold, and colorful pieces that catch the eye and spark conversation. I also enjoy classic pieces and heritage fashion brands that stand the test of time. I love to invest in shoes, handbags, and accessories and have gotten to do that with my own brand this season as we launched shoes, handbags, and headbands (even home goods). I think investing in quality pieces is a form of sustainability because those items were more likely made along an ethical supply chain and can stay in your closet for a decade (opposed to fast fashion, which is worn once or twice and then discarded due to low quality).”
Look 2:
“This is another everyday look for me. I would wear this to feel warm in the Los Angeles winter weather before it turns to spring in the afternoon then back to winter at night. I love how the graphic zebra stripes in the AA coat talk to the graphic leather contrast denim design in the Agolde jeans. The red classic Chanel handbag is a great pop of color, and red, black, and white is an iconic color combination. The colorful jewelry ties it all together. I feel fun, flirty, chic, and warm with a little New York City edge, where I lived for 17 years.”

What energy are you bringing to your ensembles this season? What are you looking forward to wearing?
“I love to see how I can be even brighter, even bolder, and even more fun with my clothing choices. For holiday, I’m loving the velvet and rose trend seen in our best-selling Rowenna group, brightened up with sparkly accessories for a chic, bright, and comfortable seasonal look.”
In terms of beauty, what does your go-to hair and makeup routine look like, and how does that change based on what you’re wearing?
“I have been going to L.A.-based hairstylist Tanea for over a year for my extensions, which has allowed my real hair a break via protective braid styles. It also allows me to switch up my hair color and style based on a whim and saves me styling time during the week. I love my nail artist, Rene, who has done artists like Coi Leray and Tokyo Stylez (Cardi B’s hairstylist). As for makeup, these looks were done by Heather Pepe and are similar to my usual red-lip-bold-cat-eye everyday look. Like my clothing, my hair and makeup is usually a mix of experimental and classic.”
Look 3:
“This night, I was headed to a fashion-focused dinner. The AA dress combination with the pink Jacquemus sunglasses is so feminine, flirty, and comfortable! The neutral tone of the Amina Muaddi heels makes the dress the focus of the look but still offers support as a statement shoe. The gold AA handbag is another neutral pop that's functional, as it’s large enough to fit a laptop for that unexpected emergency project. This outfit makes me feel like the sh*t.”
