Spring has officially arrived after what felt like an endless, bitter winter in NYC. With warmer weather means we can finally revisit many of the trends we saw on the Spring/Summer 2026 runways last season, and plan our wardrobes for the forthcoming season.
This Spring, there are plenty of trends we’ll be incorporating into our rotations for the warmer months. On the runways from New York to Paris, Chartreuse proved it will be the colour of the season, showing up everywhere from Tibi and Simone Rocha to Balenciaga and Saint Laurent. Styling tricks like tie waists appeared via Ferragamo, Chloé and Isabel Marant, while bras worn as tops were popular in Milan at Prada and Jil Sander.
For outerwear, it was all about funnel neck jackets and suede bombers, adding a sense of lightness for our layering pieces instead of the heavy coats we’ve been swathed in since November, showing up at Altuzarra, Coach, Miu Miu and Alaïa.
Ahead, see all of the Spring 2026 trends to know for the season.

Chartreuse was arguably the biggest color trend on the Spring/Summer 2026 runways, and for Spring, we’re already seeing it populate IRL. From silk chartreuse at Simone Rocha to weightless nylon at Saint Laurent, this acidic hue has already been dubbed a wedding theme color for 2026 brides, and we’re sure we’ll see it go further than that this Spring.

Tied Up

While there were plenty of examples during the Spring/Summer 2026 season for tie waists (see: Ferragamo, Isabel Marant, Chloé and Dior), the suggestion of a tie at the waist carries over from last Spring, where we were seeing an influx of silk scarves tied around waists to create dimension and texture in a simple look. This season, ties get elevated with fringe trims, interpreted in leather, and incorporated into garments as Jonathan Anderson did at Dior for added volume.

High Rise

Khaite SS26; Chloé SS26; Alaïa SS26.

Perhaps the biggest outerwear trend this Spring is the funnel neck jacket. Initially popularized on the Spring/Summer 2026 runways, finding a funnel neck jacket is no hard task thanks to the virality of the silhouette in past months. Offered in techy, weatherproof fabric and leather options, some of our favorites were seen at Altuzarra, Alaïa, and Khaite for SS26.

Waist Revival

Peplum hasn’t had such a big moment in the trend cycle since the early 2010s, and for Spring, the waist-shrinking silhouette is back and feeling more contemporary than ever. On the Spring/Summer 2026 runway, it was Tibi, Sacai, and Dior who placed an emphasis on the hourglass silhouette, which has now infiltrated our everyday approach to the shapes we are choosing.

Bare Minimum

We’re anticipating bras as tops being a focal point of Spring dressing as soon as it becomes warm enough to wear the trend. From Prada’s Spring/Summer 2026 show, where both bandeau tops in suiting material and loose fitting crepe de chine apron-like bras populated the runways, to Jil Sander’s structured bra-tops and Sandy Liang’s playful gingham options, the SS26 runways made it clear that underwear as outerwear is trending once again this season.

Whoever said that suede was meant for fall and winter hasn’t seen the Spring/Summer 2026 runway offerings. Picture this: a slightly breezy spring afternoon or summer night and a long suede Hermés coat, high-neck Altuzarra jacket, suede Miu Miu bomber jacket, or suede Coach biker moto jacket slung over your shoulders. Designers gave us endless suede jacket silhouettes to consider—the options are endless.

Underwear as outerwear is a forever trend. From a fully sheer lace skirt at Valentino to slip tops and dresses at Stella McCartney, Chloé, and Ferragamo, Spring/Summer 2026 runways had us thinking about intimates for spring. The lace trim, the sheer panels, and the general teases of nudity all contribute to looks that tow the line between sexy and innocent.

Cold Shoulder

This season is all about shoulders. Designers showed off shoulders in every way possible: through fully strapless dresses, shirts and knits that fell off a single exposed shoulder, and tops that revealed both. With sheer materials and naked dresses being all the rage as of late, there’s something simple and sweet about only the shoulders being exposed. Eckhaus Latta, Zimmermann, Givenchy, and Courreges had us all shopping for strapless spring dresses. Balmain made a case for slouchy off the shoulder knits, Bottega Veneta had us considering tank tops with one strap casually hanging off the shoulder, and Erdem had us dreaming of fully off-the-shoulder corsets.

We took note of crochet’s revival throughout Copenhagen Fashion Week in the form of cold weather accessories. We also know very well that crochet has the power to transcend seasons—a crochet scarf for winter and a crochet dress for spring as presented in Balmain’s spring 2026 collection, for example. Other designers made a case for crochet in the forms of pants, skirts, and matching two piece sets.

Connect The Dots

The past few years have been polka dot madness. Now, it’s time to accept that the timeless print is going nowhere. Mithridate and Khiate had us searching ‘polka dot bubble skirt’ on Depop, while Valentino and Nina Ricci put polka dot blouses on our minds. They’re playful and nostalgic—what more can you ask for?
