Fashion Brands Make Their Way Into the Home Space
We’re homebound, scouring the internet for some retail therapy—and fashion labels know it.
Regardless of the current lockdown measures, it’s safe to assume that working and entertaining from home are here to stay. And fashion brands are taking note. While the fashion industry has toyed with the idea of homeware in the past, the pandemic has provided a reason to pursue it full throttle.
Recently, for example, e-commerce giant Net-a-Porter expanded its lifestyle range with two new shoppable categories: decorative objects and throws. And joining the likes of luxury fashion-turned-homeware houses including Fendi Casa, MissoniHome, and Dior Maison, Italian shoe brand Aquazzura plans to debut Aquazzura Casa during Milan Design Week.
Now, it’s not so much about outfits, but tablescapes—not Gucci handbags, but Gucci throw pillows. Here’s a fresh crop of designers new to the homeware category and the ultra-chic pieces from their collections to shop now.
