The Biggest Nail Trend from NYFW Was Inspired by Track Pants
Ben Ritter

We’ll be the first to admit, we can’t get enough of the track pants trend. So much so, in fact, that we now want it on our nails, too. This fashion week, when we saw athletic stripe manicures at Kith, Tibi, and Monse for the Spring Summer 2018 shows, we were quickly scouring Amazon for striping brushes. What is a “striping brush,” you ask? It’s the super skinny nail polish brush used by nail artists to get a thin, straight line. When we were recently interviewing nail artist Alicia Torello about the sport mani she created for the Kith x Champion collaboration, she told us the trick to make your stripes look straight as an arrow: If you lay the brush down nearly flat as you draw it along the nail (rather than trying to draw it from the tip of the brush), it’s a billion times easier to get it right in one swipe.

See below for more images of the stripe-y nails we’re seeing on the runway for a look we’re officially dubbing track pants nail art.
