In recent years, we’ve seen Korean beauty take over globally, “Chinamaxxing” become a TikTok trend, and the general impact that Asian beauty practices have had on American culture. This month in particular, we've been taking note of the products, rituals, ingredients, and techniques that we've implemented into our own routines that we have Asian cultures to thank for: jade rolling, double cleansing, green tea, sheet masks, scalp oiling, and dry brushing to name just a few. Now, we’re taking a moment to shout out the AAPI beauty experts that grace our feeds with advice backed by science, tutorials that inspire, and tips that help guide our shopping year-round—our feeds would truly be nothing without them. From plastic surgeons giving the honest low down on treatments one should consider while in their twenties to beauty creators focusing on routines for brown and olive skintones, their voices fill a much needed gap and make people feel seen.
Ahead, the 11 AAPI beauty experts that you should follow immediately (if you don’t already).
