On the heels of her first Golden Globe win which resulted in the most wholesome and genuine reactions that I've personally seen at any awards show, and all while wearing and showing off her exposed Schiaparelli rhinestone thong, Teyana Taylor stepped out somewhat disguised last night. Taylor is known for turning bold looks and being unafraid of taking fashion risks, as demonstrated throughout her entire "One Battle After Another" press tour. She has worn an Off-White racing inspired look with structured shoulders in butter yellow, a Oude Wagg look featuring a matching trench coat and maxi skirt, head-piece, and a contrasting bra top, and a Saint Laurent menswear look complete with a luxurious fur stole.

Last night, she didn't sacrifice her affinity for bold looks and maximalism one bit. For the New York City premiere of her upcoming Netflix film "The Rip," Taylor tapped an Ashi Studio look that was somewhat sheer, teasing the naked dressing trend, featured exaggerated hips, long sleeves, and intricate draping. The real show stopping element, though? The ultra high neckline—so high that the entire bottom half of her face was covered.

Teyana Taylor isn't the first to tap into incognito fashion, though–just take a look at her "All's Fair" co-star Kim Kardashian's Academy Museum Gala look from October. Kardashian wore a look from Glenn Martens' Maison Margiela Couture debut: a formfitting corseted nude gown with cape-like sleeves and a matching but completely detached full face cover, eyes and all.

The face covering trend offers avant-garde element of mystery, with both examples also adding dimension and texture. Perhaps appearing mysterious is, and always has been, incredibly fashionable.
