In Favor Of The Mixed Metal Jewelry Trend

The mixed metal jewelry trend persists!

For my whole life, I've been a silver girl through and through. So much so that, even a few months ago, the mere thought of gold would throw me for a loop. I've tried for years to fight this. Still, the gold hoops that I bought for the sake of exposure therapy sit tucked away in a vintage jewelry box and the handbags with gold hardware that I've picked up along the way hang over my door, beneath frequently used bags with silver hardware, collecting dust. I'm in the process of turning a new leaf though, and I see mixing metals in my near future—and I'm happy to know that I'm not alone in this, with Glimpse (Google Trends Supercharged) noting the mixed metal jewelry trend (the silver and gold combo, in particular) as a style on the rise in 2026.

I perhaps owe my wider acceptance of metal colors to some of my favorite celebrities and it-girls—what can I say, I'm susceptible to influencing. Dua Lipa, for example, makes chunky gold jewelry on its own appealing—even more so, though, when paired with silver jewelry for the sake of contrast. On her iconic birthday trip to Ibiza, she paired oversized chunky gold drop earrings with gold chunky rings and chunky silver cuffs—all while one upping the side boob in a silver chainmail gown with the most dramatic side plunges we've ever seen.

Hailey Bieber, on the other hand, makes a strong case for dipping your toes into the mixed metal trend by incorporating pieces that already feature both silver and gold in your rotation. Bieber is a proud co-signer of Los Angeles-based jewelry brand Heaven Mayhem with mixed metal earring offerings.

Other brands to note that are huge proponents of the mixed metal jewelry trend include luxury brand David Yurman, New York City favorite Jennifer Fisher, Taylor Hill's brand Stone Fruit, and fine jewelry staples Tiffany and Cartier.

It feels like year by year, designers continue to shed "fashion rules" more and more and, in turn, gives consumers and fashion lovers permission to do so as well—me very much included.

Heaven Mayhem Micro Knot Earrings

Co-signed by Hailey Bieber, these Heaven Mayhem micro knot earrings are made out of equal parts gold and silver plated stainless steel. They are dainty and elegant, but the mixed metal aspect introduces a statement element. Important thing to note to the sensitive skinned folks prone to irritation: they are luckily hypoallergenic.

Jennifer Fisher Bangle Set

For those looking to upgrade their bracelet rotation, this Jennifer Fisher piece is essentially seven bangles in one: three silver, four gold, and held together with a sleek gold logo clasp. They are detachable, too, allowing how much of a statement you make depend on the day—and whether or not you're in a mixed metal mood.

Tiffany Lock Bangle

This Tiffany bangle is available to shop in three color-ways: a classic white gold, a yellow gold and white gold combo and, as seen above, a rose gold and white gold combo. Inspired by a padlock from the Tiffany archive that dates back to 1883, this piece is expression of the protection that love provides—plus the perfect introduction to the mixed metal jewelry trend.

Cartier Trinity Earrings

Cartier raises this question: why combine two metals when you can combine three? An even blend of white gold, yellow gold, and rose gold in the form three intertwined rings, these earrings are very dainty but make a statement up close.

David Yurman Classic Cable Bracelet

This is my personal introduction to the mixed metal jewelry trend—and it's perhaps the most subtle mix of the bunch. For those really looking to dip their toes into the mixed metal jewelry trend while hardly getting your feet wet at all, this is a good place to start. The silver braided cable cuff features two little stripes of 18K yellow gold.

Stone Fruit Core Ring

Another subtle entry point for mixed metal newbies. The mother-of-pearl cabochon might be the star of the show, but sterling silver domed band and 14K gold bezel setting are a great supporting cast.

Justine Clenquet Lewis Bracelet

For this chunky Justine Clenquet bracelet, the palladium-plated brass chain clearly takes up the most space—but the smaller interweaved 24k gold chain does a good job at holding its own. Overall, the two metals work well together in creating a piece that has dimension, contrast, but still feels like a subtle introduction to the trend.

Lucy Williams Knot Torque Necklace

For this necklace, the silver bar arguably works at a canvas to display the distinct albeit smaller centerpiece of two gold knots. This torque necklace sits at the collarbone and can be worn daily or tucked away and only pulled out for special occasions.

Boucheron Quatre Classique Pendant

This is perhaps the mixed metal jewelry piece to end all mixed metal jewelry pieces—and with the help of mirror-set diamonds, ridged gold, and other contrasting materials, certainly the most dynamic. The silver chain holds a collection of four rings, all uniquely different and all of varying colors.
