Editor; Fashion Consultant; Dentist. Paris
We started this whole thing (this whole thing being The Coveteur, the site you’re currently on), because we wanted to get under the skin and behind the scenes of the fashion industry. And we’ve pretty much stuck to that. And, we mean, we really thought Irina Lakicevic would be no different. The markers were all there: ridiculously stylish Scandinavian who shows up regularly in street style slideshows. Yeah, sounds about right. And yet, on top of being a blogger (of A Portable Package, just FYI) who posts artily framed Instagrams of things like Céline’s heeled ballerinas and fresh pastries, she’s also a full-time dentist. And, that, friends, is a Coveteur first. But why the hell not? We mean, isn’t the point of the whole blogging/Instagraming/everythings-available-to-everyone-all-the-time internet thing, that anyone can be a part of fashion even if you don’t technically work in fashion. That said, when you’re so perfectly situated as to live in such an aesthetically ideal location as Norway and have Charlotte Gainsbourg-meets-Caroline de Maigret style sense, well, it likely all comes pretty naturally to Lakicevic. When we arrived at her hotel, though, during Paris Fashion Week, we were back in familiar territory. Let’s just say that Lakicevic, like a million Scandinavian women before her, has that inimitable effortless style we can’t stop obsessing over (you would think we have seen enough bloggers from that particular corner of the world, but no, never). Her uniform is something Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton or Céline mixed with vintage tees and ubiquitous dark wash denim. We mean, if our dentist was that stylish, it’d make our annual teeth cleaning a whole lot more interesting.
