These Are The Fall Boot Trends To Shop This Season
From slouchy, supple leather options to a pop of colour.

As we ease into Fall this month, many of us are beginning to adjust our wardrobes for the cooler months ahead, which often means addressing our boot collections. This year was big in the realm of boot silhouettes, with plenty of new and nostalgic shapes to get us in the mood for fall.
At Miu Miu Fall/Winter 2025, a pop of color was everything along with a shape that stayed close to the leg, much like the sock-like silhouettes at Toteme. Naturally, riding boots were a mainstay on the Fall/Winter 2025 runways, which appeared everywhere from Ann Demeulemeester to Hermes. Isabel Marant took home the best boho boot award with scrunchy, slouchy heeled boots while Khaite and Schiaparelli took us out west.
Below, see eight of the biggest boot trends for Fall 2025.

Slouchy silhouettes were all over the runway for Fall/Winter 2025. At Louis Vuitton they were shearling-lined, while at Khaite they came thigh high. Think of slouchy boots as the oversized jeans of the boot world: effortlessly cool and perfect paired with below-the-knee dresses and skirts to toughen a look up.

At brands like Isabel Marant and Sacai, the slouch was replaced with scrunch, where soft leather boots were scrunched at the ankle with leather cords and buckles, adding a relaxed boho energy to looks. Silhouettes that are not knee-high nor ankle boots have been emerging this season, perfect for pant-tucking!

3. Colour Pop

We love a coloured leather boot for fall, especially if your closet is already stacked with black and brown options. This season at Miu Miu, bright pink, purple, and mustard leather block heeled boots injected a sense of playfulness into the collection, while at Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2025, wedge heels were padded with pops of red bouclé and at Chloé, colour was subdued into a fleshy butter yellow. We love the idea of a strong coloured boot to add an element of fun to your look.

The sock boot has returned and it’s chicer than ever. At Toteme this season the sock boot was out in full force, complete with kitten heels poking out the hem of long skirts. At Courreges, heeled sock boots went all the way up the thigh and stopped under the hems of mini skirts There is something elegant and timeless about a sock boot, elongating the leg while keeping us protected from the elements.

If you’re looking for a little more height than a kitten heel without entirely compromising comfort, wedged heel boots are your answer. On Balmain’s Fall/Winter 2025 runway in Paris, models wore tall, scrunchy wedged boots in burgundy and black. Michael Kors’ Fall/Winter 2025 runway featured wedged boots with a slightly pointy toe. It’s safe to say that wedges are officially back, not that they ever fully left.

The western influence on fashion continues and fashion girls everywhere are still throwing on cowboy boots with outfits of varying aesthetics. Following a men’s show inspired by the American west and cowboy culture, the influence was present on the Louis Vuitton women’s Fall/Winter 2025 runway too via a tall light brown cowboy boot with fringe details. In Paris, models walked down the runway at Gabriela Hearst’s Fall/Winter 2025 show in cowboy boots, some black and some brown, with classic stitching. On the menswear side of things, Prada’s Milan show included cowboy boots galore.

Some boot trends will never go out of style. At Dior’s Fall/Winter 2025 show, chunky lace up thigh high boots were paired with a fringey sweater dress and slicked back hair. On Simkhai’s Fall/Winter 2025 runway, black embellished buckle boots made their big debut, and at Coperni, tall buckle boots were paired with leather studded garters for an extra edge.

A tall, slim riding boot will always be a closet staple, horse girl or not. Lila Moss walked down the Burberry Fall 2025 runway in chestnut brown riding boots with a two piece jacket and skirt set, proving that clashing aesthetics can work. At Tory Burch’s Fall 2025, black riding boots were paired with black tweed dress with shimmery silver details, adding a dressed down element. During Hermès’ Paris showing, riding boots made a statement with a slightly pointed toe.
