10 Things We Consumed This Week: From Fendi Bags to Cute Humidifiers

Welcome to Coveteur’s Consumer Diaries! As our co-dependent relationship with the algorithm deepens with time, the bottomless scroll has turned us all into 24/7 consumers. As we consume varying degrees of news, targeted ads, trailers, shopping, and user-generated content, all accordioned together in an endless feed—our consumer habits have reached a fever pitch. In each Consumer Diary, we are taking the cultural pulse of the week and asking Coveteur staff members about what they consumed this past week.

The sun is now setting before 6:00 p.m. thanks to the daylight savings shift (didn’t we vote to get rid of that shit already?). It’s official; we are officially barreling headfirst into the holiday season. The air outside is so dry I’ve resorted to my friend’s strategy of putting Aquaphor in my nose before bed to avoid seasonal nosebleeds—gross but effective! With holiday wishlists and overpriced flights flooding our to-do lists, we’re being strategic with our purchases. Below, the Coveteur staff shares the self-care must-haves, seasonal home appliances, and bingeable content they’ve consumed this past week.

1. Fendi First Small Burgundy Braided Leather Bag

“I've been eyeing this Fendi burgundy bag all week. It's part of the collection designed by Stefano Pilati and transitions from a clutch to a shoulder bag with a versatile strap. For Fendi, I'll start my holiday shopping well before Thanksgiving.” — Leya Kaufman (Head of Brand—Publisher & VP of Sales)

2. Hey Dewy Humidifier

“It's officially time to crank up the heat in my apartment, a shift that historically wreaks havoc on my already dry skin. I'm proactively combatting the effects of the seasonal transition with my new Hey Dewy humidifier, which also happens to be the most aesthetically pleasing one on the market.” — Caroline Dunn (Manager of Sales & Brand Partnerships)

3. Dieux Air Angel Gel Cream

“I can’t describe how much this cream has saved my insanely dry skin since we transitioned into fall. Per a rec from one of Dieux’s founders that popped up on my TikTok FYP, I’ve been using 2-3x pumps in lieu of a hyaluronic acid serum after cleansing and toning and finishing with a layer of Instant Angel Moisturizer to lock it all in for extra hydration. Created with acne-prone skin in mind, you don’t have to worry about breakouts or clogging your pores; my skin hasn’t looked or felt this good in months. Don’t sleep on it.” — Emily Greene (Marketing Strategy Director)

4. Topicals Faded Under Eye Masks

“These eye masks are more than just cute. Despite trying out countless eye creams and serums, my dark circles have gotten darker by the day. These patches brighten and depuff my under eyes so well; it looks like I got a full eight hours of sleep!” — Katie Mok (Content Management Coordinator)

5. Clear + Brilliant Laser Facial

“Newest obsession: Ever/Body's Clear & Brilliant Laser Facial. A week after my first one, I feel like the witch in Snow White—I can't stop staring in the mirror. My skin hasn't looked this clear since I was 12.” — Leya Kaufman (Head of Brand—Publisher & VP of Sales)

6. Fatface Fleece Bucket Hat

“Yes, that is the name of the brand. I recently got this hat while on a trip to the East end of Long Island, and I am obsessed with it. It's super warm with fleece lining, and fits right into my neutral-toned closet. A bonus: the company is also a certified B Corp!” — Samantha Wu (Marketing Coordinator)

7. Fellow Travelers

“What admittedly caught my attention about this show were the overt remarks (and visuals) about how this show showcased a more accurate depiction of gay sex. Intrigued, I watched Fellow Travelers, starring Matt Bomer and Jonathan Bailey, and while the sex scenes are something to write home about in terms of representation, the show is so much more than that. The history, the politics, the writing, the cinematography, the acting—all of it is brilliant. Teetering between two eras ('50s McCarthyism and '80s AIDS crisis), this is a love story between two men passionately working in D.C. politics during a time when the FBI surveilled and reprimanded queer governmental employees. I highly, highly recommend it.” — Talun Zeitoun (Head of Brand, Editorial & Creative)

8. Peggy Gou x Lenny Kravitz "I Believe In Love Again"

“This duo that never crossed my mind, and I'm absolutely in love! Now I'm just patiently waiting for 2024 to roll in with Lenny Kravitz's upcoming Blue Electric Light and Peggy's highly-anticipated debut album– fingers crossed it’s soon!” — Katie Mok (Content Management Coordinator)

9. Love Story

“If you're searching for a movie that epitomizes New England aesthetics in the '70s, look no further. Arthur Hiller's Love Story follows Ali MacGraw and Ryan O'Neal's characters from the quintessential collegiate onset at Harvard and Radcliffe (of course), where the ill-bred musician falls for the billionaire's son—say less, right—throughout their tumultuous relationship. Of course, there's a disapproving father, a snowy love montage, and gender dynamics that did not age well, but the visuals (namely, the sartorial inspiration) are fantastic. Enjoy!” — Camille Freestone (Senior Style Editor)

10. Vornado VHEAT Whole Room Heater

“Because Los Angeles is built for a ‘perpetual summer,’ many mid-century Hollywood apartments weren’t constructed with proper insulation or heating. In the few months, the temperature drops into the 40s at night (I know East Coasters are rolling their eyes, but as I said, no insulation), you must have a space heater to bust out for a few weeks. I got this bad boy at Bed Bath & Beyond because it was the only one that wasn’t a total eyesore. Not only does it do an incredible job of heating my studio apartment quickly and thoroughly, but it also has a safety button at the bottom that will automatically shut it off if it gets knocked down—as the owner of a rowdy cat, I’m always afraid of burning my apartment to the ground. Also, when I was randomly at Lady Gaga’s house (too long of a story to tell here), I saw the box for this space heater in her basement, so you know it’s the cutest one on the market. Paws up, monsters!” — Andie Eisen (Culture Editor)
