The Fall 2025 Trend Report
This year's Fall 2025 fashion trends, from boho layering to sleek suiting and uptown leather.

As much as it pains us to prepare for fall, the time has come to begin thinking about the colder months. The Fall 2025 fashion trends have been offering up something for everyone this season. Good old-fashioned minimalism has taken over quiet luxury, as has a new focus on equestrian silhouettes and a move towards faux fur, which is almost certainly a political and economic indicator.
For those who were particular fans of the summer goth, a layered bohemian fall feels like a soft landing into the cooler months, as displayed at Chloé Fall/Winter 2025, Alexander McQueen, and Ann Demeulemeester back in March, celebrating a free feminine spirit with sweeping skirts, nomadic jewellery, and layered velvet jackets. Back to minimalism—there was an emphasis on draping for Fall 2025, even amongst the most quiet luxury brands. Big luxury houses are experimenting with off-kilter colour combinations like the jewel-toned explosion that took place at Saint Laurent, or the bursts of red at Louis Vuitton and pops of pastels and mustards at Miu Miu.
Suiting and tailoring continued to find itself as a classic mainstay throughout. Sarah Burton reworked the traditional blazer dress at Givenchy, while at Calvin Klein Collection, traditional, staple suiting slunk down the runway.
The styling tricks were rooted in layering and story building, all clever and telling in various ways, like the fingerless opera gloves at Hermès and stoles flung over the arms of the models at Miu Miu. Below, we unpack the top Fall 2025 trends, and how to shop them now.

One of the most enduring trends this year has been the rise of bohemian silhouettes on the streets and the runways. Naturally, the leading pioneer of the movement is Chloé’s Chemena Kamali, who, for Fall 2025, sent fur-trimmed jackets layered over feminine silk slip dresses and translucent chiffon skirts down the runway. Elsewhere, at Alexander McQueen and Ann Demeulemeester respectively, black chiffon dresses were layered with leather coats that had a nomadic air. These free-spirited silhouettes have been a mainstay for summer, and it appears that the trend won’t be going anywhere this fall.

Suit Up

Suits have been permeating the runway for years, and the Fall/Winter 2025 shows were no different. When it comes to fall trends, tailoring will always be a safe bet. At Calvin Klein Collection, heather grey and black pin-neat single breast suits with short lapels caught our eye, while at Balenciaga, the show opened with seven different iterations of Demna-fied suiting options. Over at Givenchy, Sarah Burton reinterpreted the blazer dress by flipping the collar and exaggerating the hips.

Sleek Layering

Even the most minimalist brands exaggerated a bit this season. At Alaïa, clingy, bodycon tops were paired with flippy fringe skirts; Ferragamo sent soft, simple sleeveless coats out with matching draped scarves and red leather apron skirts and stark black pencil dresses cloaked in cashmere wraps, giving everything a feeling of indulgence and movement. This trend appeals to those who like clean lines and simple colors, but want to inject more personality and detail into their wardrobes.

Equestrian Chic

Horse girls can once again rejoice! Leather riding gloves at Sacai, equestrian bikers at Hermès, and country-loving hunting headscarves at Gucci all point to an uptick in heritage fabrics and clothes that are built to last. Think: riding boots, leather gloves for the cold, and silk scarves to layer with.

Legacy Leather

Leather has felt prominent in the trend space for many years, and this season, things are taking an uptown approach. Leather was offered up into more refined silhouettes. At Alaïa there were intricate, detail oriented jackets, while at Givenchy the traditional biker was cut into a refined leather jacket dress and Tom Form sent elegant leather t-shirts down the runway. This timeless material gives a sense of punk and personality to an outfit beyond bags and shoes. Layering with hyper-feminine silhouettes, like we saw in the closing procession at Saint Laurent’s Fall/Winter 2025 show, gives a modern edge to a look.

(Faux) Fur Fever

The antithesis of quiet luxury is undoubtedly the rise of faux fur on the runways. At Miu Miu, these were stoles slung over the arms, at Chloé, they were draped around the neck. At Alaïa, great big yeti-like coats swamped models. For fall, the aforementioned stoles feel like more of an appropriate move here, paired with feminine dresses and casual tracksuits.

Underwear As Outerwear

Underwear as outerwear has been dominating much of the trend cycle this summer, and why not continue into fall? Pair lace slip dresses with knitwear and knee high socks or masculine jackets (as seen at Saint Laurent) for a well-balanced fall look.

Off-Kilter Colors

Interesting color blocking was out in full force on the Fall 2025 runways, and is feeling like a notable fall trend this season. Back to Saint Laurent, where Anthony Vacarello’s collection was an explosion of 80s jewel tones, or Miu Miu, where Mrs. Prada opted for pastels to underscore a palate of warm browns, mustards, and greys. At Louis Vuitton, Ghesquiere went all out with pops of crimson red to punctuate the collection. This fall encourages us not to shy away from any specific palette, and lean into an off-kilter color blocking technique.

Crazy Cravats

Perhaps the most whimsical trend to have come from the Fall/Winter 2025 season was a surprising amount of cravats and neck ruffles on the runway. At Ralph Lauren, an array of black and white lace cravats gave things a 17th century feel, as did Sean McGirr’s McQueen collection which featured Victorian neck ruffs throughout. Over at Ann Demeulemeester the same effect was translated through ruffled, pirate-like collars. For a touch of Nosferatu energy this fall, a ruffled blouse could be on the docket.
