How to Elevate the Sweaters You’ve Been Living in All Winter
Maximize the potential of all that cold-weather knitwear.

As we transition to the midwinter month of February, few things garner more wear than heavy knitwear (unless you’re lucky enough to live somewhere that does not have snow collecting on the sidewalk). Especially if you’re working from home, it’s easy to fall victim to the combination of chunky sweaters and sweatpants or leggings. After a bit of research, we’ve found evidence that the knitwear in question can, in fact, be elevated with the addition of leather pants or colorblocked with clashing skirts. Below, we’ve recreated three looks to help you better maximize the potential of all those chunky sweaters this winter.

The proper layering tactics can turn simple essentials into an intriguing ensemble. We’ve bookmarked this look from Nili Lotan’s pre-fall ‘21 collection to inspire our next look.

Is there anything more appealing than a super-oversized sweater during the winter? We didn’t think so. Take a note from Tahirah Hairston’s ensemble and elevate yours with a pair of leather pants, fishnet socks, and sleek mules.
Clashing Skirt + Burgundy Boots

Lean into layers of colors by mixing a hot pink sweater with a kelly green midi skirt. Then, keep everyone guessing by adding a pair of burgundy heeled booties.
