Chappell Roan Is Officially A MAC Girl

It’s a partnership that just makes sense.

This just in: one of our favorite pop girls has landed a beauty partnership that feels true to her. Chappell Roan, known for telling stories through makeup, playing with personas, and generally having a blast expressing herself through both style and music, has just been announced as MAC Cosmetics's newest Global Ambassador. This is one of those partnerships that just feels like it makes sense—a feeling confirmed by how perfectly both Roan's and MAC personalities (with the help of makeup artist Andrew Dahling) shined through their first campaign together.

“Partnering with MAC feels full circle. This brand has always made space for people like me; since day one they’ve embraced art, queerness, drag and self-expression," Roan said. "I’ve built a special relationship with the MAC team over the years, and they’ve been amazing and thoughtful collaborators on this new journey. I can’t wait for the time when I can share what we’ve made with people everywhere."

Likewise, the brand feels like Roan's the perfect fit and that their values truly align: "Chappell represents a generation that values authenticity, queer joy and fearless self-expression, which aligns perfectly with MAC and our mission of ‘All Ages, All Races, All Genders.’ Her love for her community, especially her commitment to LGBTQIA+ voices and rights, reflects the heart of what MAc has championed since the beginning," MAC’s Global Creative Director Nicola Formichetti says.

Like everything that both Chappell Roan and MAC Cosmetics do, this campaign told a story. “Chappell’s first MAC campaign is a modern take on androgyny that feels powerful, graphic, and unmistakably her,” makeup artist Andrew Dahling says. “I drew from film-noir monochrome and 1930s military references and then layered in her signature high glamour. The stark white base and erased brows created a clean canvas for sculpted dimension, while the eyes were built with cool grays and deep blacks to evoke a moody, cinematic intensity. We finished with a custom chunky frosted-tip glitter lash that adds a playful, hyper-feminine contrast to the structure of the look, capturing the theatrical spirit Chappell brings to every transformation.”

More campaigns and bold story-telling moments are expected in the New Year. But in the meantime, this first campaign, shot by Inez and Vinoodh, serves as a little sneak peak of what's to come in 2026: theatrical moments, and Roan’s signature high-octane glam. It also serves as a reminder that beauty, and makeup in particular, should be fun—in the MAC and Roan universe, playing is very much encouraged.
