The Best Perfumes For Virgos, According To An Astrologist

For the season that marks an energetic reset.

It’s officially the season to lean into all things Virgo: ritual, routine, attention to detail, self-care, and practicality mixed with luxury. Virgo season is also the perfect time to explore and refine your perfume game. We spoke to Instagram’s favorite astrology witch, @iamsarahpotter, for her expert advice on how perfume can help us make the most out of upcoming Virgo vibes.

As a Virgo herself and a lover of fragrance, Potter knows better than anyone that the season is the ideal time to get into scent. “Perfume becomes a ritual of its own as a quiet act of devotion you carry with you all day,” she explains. “Finding a scent that grounds and uplifts you turns routine into something sacred.”

According to Potter, “Virgo season is an energetic reset.” For Virgos specifically, this is a season to "come home to ourselves, for self-devotion, and remembering that your magic shines brightest when you’re rooted, clear, and nourished," says Potter. For other signs, Virgo season is an invitation to slow down and simplify. “The magic of this season lives in small, steady gestures of devotion, like making your morning tea with intention," she says.

For this season, Potter says to select fragrance notes that feel clean, grounding, and quietly luxurious, like soft musks, sandalwood, vetiver, cedar, or fig for that earthy sensuality. She recommends layering in herbal touches, like lavender, sage, or rosemary for “clarity and calm,” as well as delicate floral or fruity notes from iris, neroli, or pear for a feeling of elevated refinement. As Potter says, the perfect Virgo fragrance feels like stepping into a "serene sanctuary, but with a sparkle of mysterious allure.”

Whether you’re looking for an everyday scent, a new fragrance ritual, or just a little touch of practical magic, read on to see our picks for the best fragrances for Virgos ahead.

Diptyque Philosykos

Is there any better metaphor for Virgos than a deeply-rooted tree bearing delicious fruit? Diptyque’s Philsosykos was made to capture every part of the fig tree, from fresh, green leaves to sweet, ripe fruit to the sappy, resinous wood of the trunk. This scent is probably the most realistic fig on the market, perfectly capturing the fruit’s signature juicy, rindy, sensual earthiness.

Loewe 001

What could be more Virgo-coded than a late summer afternoon spent reading a book while a gauzy white curtain flutters in the sweet-scented breeze? Lucky for us, Loewe captured exactly that feeling with 001 Woman. The bright top notes of sunny citrus and floral pink pepper give way to the gentle scents of jasmine and fresh linen, ending with soft sandalwood and an amber note as golden as the last days of summer.

Clue Dandelion Butter

Cult favorite Dandelion Butter is the ultimate example of how something that reads as odd on paper can be flawless in practice. This fragrance smells exactly like real dandelion and real salted butter—and somehow, it works perfectly. It’s green, musky, and floral in a crushed-petals-and-pollen kind of way, with the distinct scents of milky sap and sweet butter. Intriguingly novel yet strangely familiar, Dandelion Butter is as wearable as it is intoxicating.

Pigmentarium Brutal

What says "self-care ritual" more than cocktails, coffee, and fresh-cut bouquets? Pigmentarium’s Brutal puts them all in one gorgeous and unapologetically feminine fragrance. A heady burst of orange blossom precedes subtle notes of cool, bitter Negroni and dark coffee before a heart of velvety tuberose and creamy ylang-ylang. With base notes of tobacco and amber, Brutal conjures up the image of some chic Parisian PhD student who smokes Vogue Superslims, looks like Monica Bellucci, and smells like a summer sunset.

Vyrao The Sixth

Vyrao is a brand based on the use of traditional plants and healing energy, so it’s no surprise that they have a scent that embodies the power of sacred herbs. The first sniff is reminiscent of a handful of herbs crushed with a mortar and pestle, with top notes of juniper, angelica root, and wormwood. The scent settles as fresh, green, cooling, and centering, with apple, fennel, oakwood, and fir mellowing out its spicy herbaceousness.

D'Annam Monsoon Tea

What is more Virgo than calm after a storm? Inspired by the tranquil feeling of drinking a cup of Vietnamese green tea after a heavy rainfall, Monsoon Tea combines dewy lily and mellow citrus with tender green tea leaves to create a beautifully fresh and self-possessed scent. Soft musk melds with earthy tea and bitter-orange petitgrain to create something that smells like what petrichor might be on a mystical planet made only of flowers.

Andrea Maack Coven

This cult favorite from Icelandic perfumer Andrea Maack is the perfect choice for a season rooted in the magic of ritual. An astoundingly literal fragrance, Coven smells exactly like a secluded forest glen, the damp air thick with the ghosts of past pagan ceremonies. Smelling just like dark moss, wet wood, and sacred soil, it’s both mystical and mundane, the smell of the earth itself, but also of something a bit beyond…

Gucci Bloom Intense

Bloom Intense is the kind of classic, sophisticated white floral that we guarantee at least one Virgo in your life already wears. It opens with clear, bright pear and ginger mellowed with sweet mandarin before quickly giving way to a floral heart of tuberose, jasmine, and orange blossom with a base of earthy, incense-y patchouli and moss. Inspired by moonlight and night-blooming flowers, Bloom Intense mirrors how Virgo season reminds us that we thrive when we’re most at peace.

This newest offering from Imaginary Authors feels like a sun-dappled morning bike ride through Aix-En-Provence. How to Say Bicycle in French starts with sweet basil and turns into a smooth symphony of clarifying rosemary, sage, and thyme. Vilhelm Parfumerie Basilico & Fellini

Basilico & Fellini starts with a massive hit of pure, fresh basil, but don’t let that fool you: it becomes so much more. The sharp greenness quickly melts away like summer itself yielding to golden autumn, the bright basil mellowing into wild fig, sunbaked hay, and earthy vetiver. With a mysterious note of sweet, mild dragonfruit, this scent was inspired by Federico Fellini’s documented love of basil (and his possible belief that it was an aphrodisiac).

One Day Jeju

Much like Basilico & Fellini, Jeju starts with a bright burst that settles into something softer but no less lovely. A beginning hit of grapefruit transitions into clean, sweet tomato leaf, rounded out by earthy green tea, honeyed orange blossom, and smooth cedar. Bright, clean, supremely complex yet wearable, Jeju is the epitome of a Virgo’s ultimate serene sanctuary with an alluring sparkle.
