This Pimple Patch Completely Disappears Under Makeup

The year may be winding down, but the beauty launches aren’t. They were so many new hair, makeup, skin, fragrance, and body products this month, it was almost hard to test them all. If you are still pulling together your holiday wish lists or in need of a last minute gift, I’d argue that any of these new products would be crowd pleasers. Just be warned, I can’t promise you won’t want to keep them for yourself. Keep reading to dive into the beauty products our editors are loving right now.

All Hours Luminous Matte Foundation

Unlike eyeshadow or blush, foundation is a makeup product that should remain undetectable. After application, you want to forget that you even have a base on your skin in the first place. This latest launch from YSL Beauty definitely checks off that box. The hyaluronic acid-infused formula provides long-lasting full coverage without feeling heavy or caked on.

Wake Up Honey Eye Cream

Now that I’m in my late 20s, my skin is less than forgiving of my lifestyle habits than it has been in the past. (Read: one too many nights out.) That means that eye cream wasn’t a staple in my skincare routine until recently. In fact, I wasn't really sure if eye cream's really did anything. But after testing quite a few, I’ve fallen in love with this one from Farmacy Beauty. The eye cream’s texture is silky, moisturizing, and quickly absorbed by the skin. It’s also formulated with three percent vitamin C, encapsulated caffeine, and a buckwheat-honey blend that work together to deliver a dose of hydration to the skin while reducing the look of puffiness and fine lines.

Candle

Lighting a candle is an immediate pick-me-up, especially in the middle of winter when sunset arrives at 4:30PM. (What is it about lighting a candle that instantly makes you feel at ease?) Recently, I’ve been burning this candle from The 14th Night in my living room to add to the cozy ambiance. The fragrance is warm and woody, combining amber, bergamot, and vanilla for a scent that feels sophisticated, yet familiar.

Salicylic Acid Acne Healing Dots

I have always been a big fan of pimple patches. They keep me from picking at new blemishes, extract oils and gunk, and they're so satisfying to remove. Sometimes I am down to sport a bold sticker on my face, but I’ve always longed for a more subtle option for the daytime. That’s why this new SKU from Peace Out Skincare has quickly become one of my favorites. They took their signature Acne Dot and made a much thinner version designed to be covered with makeup and virtually disappear onto the skin. But don’t worry, it still has all the good stuff like salicylic acid, retinol, and aloe vera so you get a steady dose of acne fighting ingredients.

Will Relieve Lidocaine Pain Relief Roll-On

Tennis champion Serena Williams is a cofounder of this new brand, but you don't need to be a pro athlete to use it. For some reason I took it upon myself to spice up my workout routine to end out the year. While it was fun to try something new, my muscles had other thoughts on the matter which left me looking to my stash of products for some pain relief. I am happy to share that out of all my testing this gel worked the best. It is packed with botanicals and lidocaine to quickly aid in the recovery process. The roller ball tip made application a breeze and avoided the usual sticky feeling you would typically expect from a product in this category. It dries fast, fits in my bag, and comes at an amazing price point.

Anti-Dandruff Shampoo

I don’t know about you but my scalp is constantly dry in the winter. Between dealing with the harsh weather and my super dry apartment—anyone else in NYC who can’t control their heat knows—flakes are just bound to happen. Luckily this shampoo has a dose of two percent salicylic acid to help. To those who might not be familiar, this key ingredient helps remove dead skin cells and is a great exfoliant that you are probably already using in other skincare products. I’ve swapped this into my routine twice a week and have been loving the results.

Super Stay Up to 24HR Hybrid Powder-Foundation

It has been quite some time since a powder foundation has made its way into my makeup bag. I generally lean towards a hydrating liquid formula for my dry skin but I have to say I was glad I gave this product a chance. It is very lightweight, the matte finish was smooth but not drying, and it held up through a whole night of holiday parties. I also appreciate the buildable nature of the coverage. It is very easy to control which areas you might want to leave a bit more sheer versus covered up.
