What if, ten years ago, I told you that the stretchy headband (yes, the ones you can get at a drugstore for a couple bucks) would still be popular today? And that they, once considered casual, are now being styled by fashion girls and paired with gowns and skirts throughout fashion month? And that Paloma Elsesser wore one just last night to the Rimowa soho store party? And that the headbands just seem to be getting wider and wider? And we're wearing them partially covering our ears? It's all true, and it has been for some time.

The '90s and Y2K accessory has resurged in recent years and, thanks to the likes of Bella Hadid and Millie Bobby Brown, it has proved that it can work to both complete casual, laid-back looks and elevate formal looks. Think of it as a multi-dimensional accessory that ties together your look while also distracting from frizzy fly away hairs, if that's what's needed on a particular day. Last night, Paloma Elsesser reiterated the stretchy headband's formal abilities by pairing hers with a dressed up look for a night out.

Between New York, London, Milan, and Paris fashion week, the stretchy headband was styled in so many ways: with gowns and dresses, skirts, trousers and tees, and every other combination you could possibly imagine. Has the '90s stretchy headband accomplished a seamless, iconic rebrand? I think so.
