After the inspiration overload that was this past fashion month, we have 2026 color trends on our minds. And yes, despite the Pantone color of the year essentially being the most standard shade of white imaginable, 2026 is all about color, unexpected variations, and surprising pairings. The 2026 Oscars red carpet gave us a lavender moment and a pink and red pairing. Between that, Teyana Taylor making a case for green leather, and Alexander Skarsgård making a case for purple (and sequins!), our perspectives on color have been constantly expanding—and I have been taking notes of ways to ease my way out of my almost entirely black rotation and have fun with fashion in the coming seasons.
Last year was all about butter yellow and that arguably remains true, but other colors are coming for the top spot. From muted pastels to full and bold pops, these are the 2026 color trends that you need to pay attention to.
1. Tomato Red
Valentino Fall/Winter 2026 Launchmetrics
Carolina Herrera Spring/Summer 2026 Launchmetrics
Balenciaga Fall/Winter 2026 LaunchmetricsTomato red was seemingly everywhere in terms of Spring/Summer 2026 and Fall/Winter 2026 runways. From long dresses in Valentino's Fall/Winter 2026 collection and Carolina Herrera's Spring/Sumer 2026 collection to leather outerwear in Balenciaga's Fall/Winter 2026 collection, if these past two seasons taught us anything, it's that tomato red transcends season.

2. Cobalt Blue
Bottega Veneta Fall/Winter 2026 Launchmetrics
Loewe Spring/Summer 2026 Launchmetrics
Givenchy Fall/Winter 2026 LaunchmetricsCobalt blue was put on our radars by the one and only Greta Lee throughout her two 2025 press tours—now, it's clear to us that this color is going nowhere. Cobalt blue reigned supreme on both Spring/Summer 2026 and Fall/Winter 2026 runways, certifying itself as a sound choice when it comes to statement outerwear thanks to Bottega Veneta, sleek dresses thanks to Loewe, and fun pants courtesy of Givenchy.

3. Deep Eggplant

Cult Gaia Fall/Winter 2026 Launchmetrics
Proenza Schouler Fall/Winter 2026 LaunchmetricsIt's never too early to start preparing for fall—here at Coveteur, this past fashion month had us taking notes and filling online carts. Fall/Winter 2026 runways made a strong case for deep eggplant as a fun yet muted alternative to black and brown. Diotima, Proenza Schouler, and Cult Gaia all had us searching for deep eggplant dresses for the sake of owning moody evening wear.

5. Mint Green
Chanel Spring/Summer 2026 Launchmetrics
Dior Spring/Summer 2026 Launchmetrics
Armani Privé Spring/Summer 2026 LaunchmetricsMy prediction: we will be seeing mint green on everyone come spring and summer. Mint green comes in many forms and both muted and full-bodied variations. Chanel's runway featured layered sheer mint green dress with lace embroidery. Dior made a case for muted mint in the form of a boxy polo-style shirt. Amrnai Privé featured a monochrome mint set: a strapless dress paired over trousers with mint green kitten heels and a matching clutch.

6. Mustard Yellow
I, who for whatever reason always associated mustard yellow with spring, had a strong epiphany upon seeing a model walk down the Sergio Hudson runway in a mustard yellow turtleneck and mustard yellow trousers with a turquoise coat layered on top. From that moment forward, I will never again doubt mustard's season-defying powers. In terms of Spring/Summer 2026, Valentino sent a model down the runway in a chiffon mustard button up top paired with a purple skirt and pink heels. Hermés made a case for mustard yellow outerwear with a coat paired with black leather pants.

7. Baby Pink

Ulla Johnson Fall/Winter 2026 Launchmetrics
Stella McCartney Spring/Summer 2026 LaunchmetricsBaby pink has been everywhere and we have good reason to predict that it will remain like that for the rest of 2026—and likely beyond that. Acne and Ulla Johnson encouraged wearing the color next fall and winter through the presentation of dresses and outerwear. On Stella McCartney's Spring/Summer 2026 runway, a valid point was also made: we need outerwear in the spring and summer too for those breezy nights—and they might as well be a fun color.

8. Chartreuse
Prada Spring/Summer 2026 Launchmetrics
Alaïa Spring/Summer 2026 Launchmetrics
Ashlyn Fall/Winter 2026For the past two seasons, all the shades of chartreuse imaginable have been present on major runways. Prada and Alaïa, for example, made strong case for a green-leaning variant of the hue in the forms of dresses and skirts. The Ashlyn runway made a case for bright neon colors in the fall and winter with a turtle neck knit a yellow-leaning variant of the popular color.
