Green Leather Is Taking Over For Spring

The leather jacket trend we're shopping this season.

First thing's first: we trust Teyana Taylor wholeheartedly. If she is spotted wearing a green leather jacket, I am going to seriously consider purchasing a green leather jacket—it's a natural cycle for me at this point. This is all to say that Teyana Taylor, arguably the fashion girl of the moment was spotted strutting down the streets of Paris is a green leather jacket—Burberry's cropped leather embossed trench jacket, no less.

Coincidentally enough, we've been thinking about leather jacket trends a lot at Coveteur. We've co-signed leather trench coats, leather bomber jackets, and snakeskin in all forms (especially in the form of jackets), and those few days of false spring in New York City had us reevaluating our warm weather rotations. This question has been on our minds: how do we continue to show our love for leather jackets throughout the spring and perhaps during slightly chilly summer nights? The answer: putting a twist on the classic styles we love through color. And what color better represents spring than green?

Although this Burberry jacket sets standards high with the embossed texture, high-neck, and multiple buckle details, other designers have made strong cases for green leather jackets, too, and in varying shades spanning from light and mossy to dark and nearly appearing black.

Diesel and Advisry both sent bold emerald green leather jackets down their Fall/Winter 2026 runways. Diesel opted for bomber style with slightly rugged faded leather and two oversized pockets on each side of the front. For Advisry, the fur-trim trend was embraced through a leather jacket embossed with a checkered pattern and fur cuffs and fur collar in the same green.

Balenciaga Fall/Winter 2026

Prada Menswear Fall/Winter 2026

Balenciaga's Fall/Winter 2026 collection and Prada's Fall/Winter 2026 menswear collection both embraced deep forrest greens in the forms of leather trench coats. These dark hues serve as a reminder that green leather jackets are appropriate for all seasons, even those in which is not feeling their boldest but still trying to stray away from a classic black.

Bottega Veneta Spring/Summer 2026

Prada Spring/Summer 2026

If you're in need of proof that this trend is spring appropriate, we've got you covered—Spring/Summer 2026 runways embraced the green leather jacket trend, too. Bottega Veneta made a case for a mossy green that feels perfectly spring appropriate, while Prada put lime green on our minds in a look that is bright, warm, and makes a statement.

We encourage you to take these consistencies—endorsements by both Spring/Summer 2026 and Fall/Winter 2026 runways, plus a perfectly timed co-sign by tastemaker Teyana Taylor—as a sign. Not to necessarily sell or pack away your black leather because those pieces will forever come in handy, but to expand your horizons. Green offers a variety of opportunities to do just that, whether you're someone who consistently wears a black uniform but is trying to dip their toes into color through a deep dark green, or someone so ready to make a statement in pastels and bright colors bordering neon. Spring is slowly but surely arriving, we'll all be both literally and figuratively touching grass soon enough and, before we know it, everything will be green.
