The Only Two Recipes You Need This Summer
They come from St. Barth’s and will blow your dinner guests away.

Whenever we go abroad, we always like to seek out the local go-to spot, and so when we were in St. Barth’s earlier this year, of course Maya’s was top on our list. This iconic restaurant, located just outside the town of Gustavia and literal steps from the crystal-clear blue water of the Caribbean Sea, offers to-die-for dishes made from only the freshest ingredients—so fresh, in fact, that the menu changes every day (and has every day since Maya and her husband first opened the restaurant in 1984) based on what is actually ripe and ready to be used. Fun fact: St. Barth’s imports almost all of its food onto the island from all around the world (think the United States, Guadeloupe, France) with the exception of the fish, which is caught locally. While visiting we were lucky enough to try out a braised octopus dish as well as a simple yet delicious cauliflower salad. Both dishes were so good that we couldn’t resist getting the recipes for them—after all, what’s more chic than serving classic St. Barth’s dishes at your next dinner party?
