Welcome back to Fashion Bulletin, a weekly column where Coveteur's senior fashion editor, Ella O’Keeffe, recaps all the buzzy industry news you from the week.

Just when we all thought that fashion’s bout of musical chairs was finally through, Balmain has reopened the position that has belonged to Olivier Rousteing for 14 years. When he bagged the job at just 25 years old, he was the youngest designer ever to be appointed to head up a French house, and was the first Black designer to ever take up the position.

Throughout his tenure, Rousteing developed a certain brand for himself which went hand-in-hand with the Balmain identity, striking up a long-term relationship with the Kardashian family (he was one of the first luxury designers to embrace the reality stars in this way), creating his #BalmainArmy, and prioritizing inclusivity, which saw him utilize platforms like Instagram as a means to bring a totally new customer—and culture—to Balmain. While Rousteing hasn’t announced his next move, and Balmain hasn’t named a successor, it will be very interesting to see how the next year unfolds for the French house.

Saint Laurent Tops The Lyst Index

Last week, my hairstylist asked me which brand I would wear if I could wear one exclusively. Immediately, I told her what I have been saying for years: Saint Laurent, and it seems that in Q3, the public agrees. For the past few years, Miu Miu has topped the Lyst index with Loewe usually in close second. This week Lyst Index’s Q3 2025 results were released, with Saint Laurent jumping up two places and claiming the top spot for the first time. Apparently, this is largely thanks to the brand’s Le Loafers, which have been crowned this quarter’s second most in-demand product (Havaianas’ flip-flops are first, lol) and spiked in searches by 34 percent. As a Le Loafer loyalist. It makes sense!

Prada Drops Holiday 2025 Campaign

Prada

Prada never misses when it comes to…pretty much anything, but especially holidays. This year, the brand has released its latest holiday campaign starring Maya Hawke, Damson Idris, Louis Partridge, Letitia Wright, and Li Xian, lensed by Glen Luchford. Something about the imagery is evoking C.S. Lewis’s The Lion The Witch & The Wardrobe. Just me?

Valentino Releases 2026 Cruise Campaign

Valentino

Elsewhere in the realm of celebrity/luxury crossovers, Tate McRae has landed her first luxury campaign for Valentino’s 2026 Cruise collection, where she stars alongside Marisa Berenson, Dakota Johnson, and Dev Hynes.. It’s glam, McRae’s brows are bleached, and everyone who knows me knows how I feel about Dakota Johnson (an angel on earth is an apt description).

The CFDA Awards Honors The Row’s Internet-Breaking Accessories

This week at the CFDA awards, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen of The Row took home the American Accessories Designers of the Year award, which makes plenty of sense, and also made me smirk to think about how badly the internet spiralled this summer during #flipflopgate. Other winners included Ralph Lauren, who took home the American Womenswear designer of the year award, Thom Browne, who was awarded American Menswear designer of the Year, and Ashlyn Park, who took home the American Emerging Designer of the Year award. The night ended withA$AP Rocky receiving the Fashion Icon award, Rihanna cheering him on (she received the award herself in 2014, making them officially the most stylish couple in music).

Jacob Elordi Gets Existential For Bottega Veneta

Jacob Elordi has been a certified Bottega Veneta boy for some time now, often photographed with a capacious Andiamo bag slung over his hulking shoulders. Now, the actor stars in the brand’s latest campaign, including a short film directed by Duane Michaels where he waxes poetic about our dreams. Whatever you say, beautiful!

Net-A-Porter Teams Up With Rabanne

Net-A-Porter

Ecommerce giant Net-A-Porter has launched an exclusive party capsule collection with Rabanne, to “capture the spirit of 1970s Miami.”. It’s all very classic Rabanne, and perfect for a holiday party (in Miami, no less!). The brand celebrated the launch with a party in slightly colder parts (London) this week, with a host of celebrity attendees, from Iris Law to Caroline Polachek.
