With clients like Emma Stone, Cara Delevigne, and Zoe Saldaña, you've undoubtedly seen Mara Roszak's work on many a red carpet. Roszak is a hairstylist to the stars, but is also the founder and CEO of RŌZ, a haircare brand beloved for its clean, sustainable ingredients, delightful signature scent, and salon level results. Everything—from her career as a celebrity hairstylist to her obsession with haircare—began in her childhood home in Laurel Canyon, California. "I remember being in the bathroom of our home trying to smooth and straighten my then frizzy hair with my moms very old blowdryer," Roszak says. "Shortly after I mastered my own hair at about 12 years old, I started highlighting and then dying my friends hair with pink and purple Manic Panic dye. I went to beauty school at the age of 16."
While her teenage years were about fighting the frizz, her hair ethos now is about embracing texture. "Don’t fight what you have," she says. "The healthiest, most beautiful hair comes from working with your natural texture, not against it." That's the ethos for RŌZ, which makes products that add hydration to the hair, like the best-selling Milk Hair Serum. "Healthy, hydrated hair is more resilient, more manageable, and naturally shines," she says. "When you give your hair what it needs and embrace what it wants to do, everything else becomes much easier."
Courtesy of RŌZRŌZ's latest launch (available to shop as of today!), the Wave Texturizing Mist, is another embodiment of Roszak's hair approach. It provides a lived-in texture inspired by her signature "Canyon Waves"—undone waves with soft, lived in movement, as if you spent the day in Topanga Canyon—sans that crunchy stiffness that so many hairsprays result in. "It gives day-two hair on day-one and creates that intentionally undone look," she says.
