We had our doubts but we held out high hopes that the naked dress trend, in some way shape or form, would it make its way to the 2026 Oscars red carpet—so our evenings were essentially made when we spotted Zoe Saldaña walking the red carpet in a semi naked dress. The Oscars tend to lean more formal than an event like the Golden Globes or the Grammys and, with the Cannes Film Festival recently banning naked dresses altogether this year, it was difficult to predict how many boundaries would be pushed for the film industry's biggest night.
Coming off of her best supporting actress win last year, Saldaña returns to the Oscars as a presenter—and in a lingerie-inspired gown by Anthony Vaccarello for Saint Laurent. The dress is simple and straightforward but entirely effective, mostly thanks to the lace corset bodice. The statement Cartier necklace didn't hurt, either.

An Oscars red carpet look would be nothing without the glam and the artists behind it. For this special occasion, Saldaña worked with makeup artist Vera Steimberg who took a skincare first approach. The duo turned to the ZIIP Halo, an electrical current device, to lift, firm, and brighten. That paired with ZIIP's Silver Gel made the skin perfectly glowy and hydrated and, therefore, makeup ready.
