We've co-signed naked dressing, bras as topspush-up bras in particular, and wearing pajamas in public. Now, in the latest installment of trends sure to send a certain side of the internet into a rage: lingerie tops. We've always been a huge fan of the trend, but now, after a recent Hailey Bieber citing, we're seizing the opportunity to rant about it.

I think of the lingerie top as the bra tops' demure relative—perfect for when you don't want to commit to showing a lot of skin, but sexy and sultry nonetheless. A lingerie top tends to be a silk or satin camisole with lace trim. They exist without the trim, yes, and I do consider those to be a wardrobe staple, but the lace trim really adds something and, depending on how the top is styled, can lean bohemian, coquette, or '90s chic (in Bieber's case, for example). They're just that versatile.

Bieber paired her vintage fluorescent yellow Dolce & Gabbana lingerie top with the '90s/Y2K inspired zig zag headband she has been sporting as of late, tailored black pants with a subtle but noticeable baby flare, strappy heeled sandals, small oval sunglasses, and a black shoulder bag. Oh, and wired headphones which, in this day and age, feel like a notable accessory.

Runways have been co-signing the lingerie top trend, too. At Chloé's Spring/Summer 2026 show, the styling leaned into the high-end bohemian aesthetic that we know and love Chemena Kamali for—and the top itself was complete the daintiest, most precious of bows. On Stella McCartney's Spring/Summer 2026 runway, a lingerie top paired with baggy low-slung jeans and a black belt made a case for the trend as casual, everyday wear.

While one might typically associate a dainty, lingerie-inspired camisole with spring and summer, we're advocating for them as a fall hero piece. Picture this: a lingerie top paired with baggy, low-rise trousers, a little leather bomber jacket, and a kitten-heeled boot for a night out—or a classic ballet flat if comfort is key for you. The opportunities are endless.

So, long story short: it's not too late to stock up.
