Vogue has finally quieted all of the speculation of who might follow in Wintour's footsteps, which included a strange, disheartening rumor that Jeff Bezos was purchasing the magazine as a wedding gift for Lauren Sanchez, by officially crowning Chloe Malle, long-time Vogue employee, current editor of Vogue.com and host of 'The Run Through' podcast, as the Head of Editorial Content for Vogue US. Malle's role will differ slightly from Wintour's famous editorship as Vogue will no longer have an Editor-in-Chief and Wintour isn't stepping away completely (she is keeping her role as Vogue's global editorial director).

For those outside of the fashion world, the most commonly asked question is who is Chloe Malle? Below, are five things to know about the woman who bagged fashion's most coveted job.

You Might Know Her Parents

You might not recognize Chloe Malle but you might know her parents or recognize their work. Her mother is actress and former cover girl model, Candice Bergen, who ironically portrayed Carrie Bradshaw's jaded Vogue editor in 'Sex And The City'. Her father is French filmmaker Louis Malle known for his eclectic style and for being part of the New Wave of French films.

She Wasn't Always A Fashion Girl

Malle started her career at Vogue hesitantly and has recently admitted that fashion wasn't one of her core interests at the time. She has, naturally and inevitably, come to be a fashion girl, but her career started with her writing about real estate and architecture.

Alongside British Vogue head of editorial content, Chioma Nnadi, Malle deep dives into fashion and all things Vogue with other editors, creatives, and cover stars. Have you ever been curious about what Vogue editors are excited about fashion-wise and which trends they plan on indulging in? Malle has all the answers on the Condé Nast podcast 'The Run-Through'.

She's Not Afraid To Get Political

From being spotted with her own creative custom sign at the Women's March in 2017 to asking Jack Schlossberg, grandson of John F. Kennedy, what his late grandfather would advise us to do in the current political climate, Malle isn't afraid to have the tough conversations or to make it clear where she stands.

She Has Already Spent Fourteen Years With 'Vogue'

Chloe Malle isn't new to Vogue. Not even close. She joined the Vogue team in 2011 as a social editor. She then worked her way up to a contributing editor role and then, eventually, became Vogue's digital editor. This should instill confidence in all of us—she knows the brand, the ways in which it has already grown and the ways that it should evolve moving forward. "Chloe has proven often that she can find the balance between American Vogue’s long, singular history and its future on the front lines of the new," Anna Wintour shared. "I am so excited to continue working with her, as her mentor but also as her student, while she leads us and our audiences where we’ve never been before."
