After retiring form the sport at the age of 16 due to emotional burnout, 20-year old figure skater Alysa Liu returned to compete on her own terms—and left the 2026 winter olympics with two gold medals. After her monumental win, Liu connected with us while wearing both gold medals around her neck—as she absolutely should. She was always a buzzed about skater having already won two U.S. championships, but her comeback really captured the attention and hearts of everyone due to how much bubbly joy she exuded as she skated at the olympics and how effortless it seemed to all come to her—all while wearing a shimmering gold dress with an asymmetrical neckline, showing off the smiley piercing she did herself, and rocking iconic halo hair. "I feel excited that I was able to share all of the programs I wanted to share on the big stages," Liu shared.
With figure skating, fitness and general wellness of course take precedence, but Liu doesn't deny the importance of beauty, hair, and skincare rituals in her routine, and how much her partnership with razor brand Gillette Venus means to her—it's important to look your best when competing on the biggest of stages, after all.
