Craving Some New Skin Care? Consider a Mini Kit

Sample your products before you commit.

By: Hannah Baxter

Testing out a new beauty product, especially skin care, can be a dangerous game. On one hand, any newness in our bathroom cabinets is exciting because that serum or moisturizer might up your glow factor exponentially. On the other hand, you could experience irritation, breakouts, or realize that you wasted your money on something that simply doesnt work for you (despite a friend’s wholehearted recommendation). That’s why we love scooping up products in mini form. It’s less of a commitment in terms of pricing, and theres not as much guilt if you only use the product a few times. Even better if it comes as part of a set that targets multiple skin concerns, like dryness or hyperpigmentation. They’re also cute! And who doesn’t want that?

With this kit you can try eight different products across skin, makeup, and hair for a fraction of the price. We’re guessing your next ride-or-die product is in here, no question.

Olehenriksen 3 Little Wonders Mini, $18

Sunday Riley Power Couple Mini Kit, $28

Rough, uneven skin is no match for this lactic acid and trans-retinoic acid duo. These cult-favorite products will have your complexion looking toned and dewy so fast, you’ll want to invest in the full-sized bottles after just a few uses.

Laneige Mini Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer, $15

This creamy toner was a smash hit in Korea ever since it debuted two years ago, and luckily it has finally made its way stateside. Both formulas are packed with amino acids to keep you looking glowy and feeling hydrated all day long.

Tata Harper Spring Reset Kit for Oily/Combo Skin, $72

If you’re new to the world of clean skin care, this luxe mini set is the perfect place to start. The cleanser, serum, and moisturizer are all specifically formulated for oily and acne-prone skin, with added alpha hydroxy acids to help eliminate dead skin and buildup for a clear, luminous complexion.

Too Cool for School Egg-ssential Skincare Mini Set, $16

Another K-beauty classic, this kit has everything you need to take your skin from dull and lifeless to plump and dewy. The whipped foam cleanser keeps your skin bouncy without ever stripping it (meaning you feel tight and dry after), while the mask and cream help restore much-needed radiance. And the body butter? Good luck not flying through it—it’s heavenly.

Mario Badescu Discover Mario: Mini Sampler Set, $20

Fun fact: Facials at Mario Badescu’s Manhattan salon are actually the some of the most affordable and luxe facials around. If you’re not familiar with the cult-favorite skin-care line, this kit lets you try six best-sellers (the collagen mask is our favorite) for the price of a handful of iced lattes.
