Fashion Superlatives

Bella Hadid Is Our Best Dressed Pick Two Weeks in a Row

Plus, Busy Phillipps, Thandie Newton, and Chiara Ferragni all giving us their best fash-un.

Last week it was couture norm-core (seriously), and high-brow pajama dressing—this week its red carpets and menswear. January and February are some of the busiest months of the year for fashion folk (couture week! mens fashion week! Copenhagen! NYFW Prep! awards shows!...feel exhausted yet?) but that only means theres more great style to ogle than ever.  Here are our favorite looks of the week, and the superlatives weve assigned to them.

Most Likely to Have Been a Carpenter in His Past Life: Ty Hunter

“I’m super into Ty Hunter’s layered look he wore to New York men’s fashion week this week, like, really into it. The floor-length camo jacket over the denim jumpsuit, with the black boots? All signs point to the fact he is channeling his inner carpenter from a past life.” —Jodi

Best Case for Never Wearing Anything But Denim: Bella Hadid

“I know, I know, Bella Hadid was on our list last week. But she (her stylist) is, well, on a serious sartorial roll. The denim bustier dress had me seeing blurred visions of early noughties Britney Spears and Galliano-era Dior (appropriate, as she was attending Dior’s Poison launch party)—in other words, it gave me all the feels. And convinced me of what I already believe to be true: that you can get away with wearing any kind of denim, anytime.” —Emily Ramshaw

Most Likely to Make You Rethink Camo: Busy Philipps

“Busy Philipps might be my favorite person in the world right now. Her Instagram stories make my day (she’s just so...real, for lack of a better word), and her ‘90s-style purple camo Jeffrey Dodd dress—which she rocked with a dark burgundy lip—made my SAG night. She then followed up that winning look with ridiculously cute bell-sleeves on Live With Kelly, and...gah! Busy, can I please come raid your closet?!” —Samantha Sutton

Most Likely to Inspire Lenny Kravitz to Bring Out *That* Scarf Again: Chiara Ferragni

“It’s big (although, not *as* big as Lenny’s), cozy, and matches her sweater.” —Noah Lehava

Best Case for Taking a Risk: Thandie Newton

“At first I didn’t get it, but then the longer I looked, I totally got it. Thandie Newton’s Schiaparelli gown was a total risk, with a giant sequined Ferris wheel, horses, and...are those birds?...going up the dress, but I love it. It seems like a bit of a nod to Westworld, but I could just be a superfan reading into it. Also, she’s so pretty and so cool, she could literally wear anything and I’d say she was best dressed, so take this for what it’s worth.” —Laurel Pantin
