And lots (and lots) of champagne.

Olivia Culpo Loves Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

We like to think that the best way get to know someone is over a delicious meal together. Extra avocado-toast points if said meal happens to be brunch and is handmade by your brunch date—even more so, of course, if champagne is involved. And that’s precisely what went down last month when we visited Olivia Culpo at her Hollywood loft, where she divulged all her secrets from how she starts her day and her workouts of choice, to why she loves a good facial brush and why mint chocolate chip ice cream is the best flavor ever. It’s all here save for our mimosas and toast.

What her 9-5 looks like:
“A typical day really varies for me depending on where I am. I usually start out the day working out doing either barre or Pilates. Then I typically have a fitting or an audition. I meet with my team at some point to talk about upcoming events, and then I’ll usually have to pack for something or unpack from something [laughs].”

The perfect day off:
“My ideal day off would be to wake up, work out, and maybe go for a hike. Or go down to Manhattan Beach and just soak up the sun. I’d pop a bottle of champagne, watch the sun go down, go back home, get dressed, and then go out to dinner. Best day ever.”

Her health MO:
“The most important thing is moderation. I don’t think you should ever deprive yourself of anything. Obviously what we put into our bodies is really important for how we’re going to feel and how we’re going to look, or even how we’re going to feel that we look. Try to keep a balance between enjoying the things that you love in life, whether it’s your favorite meal or drink, but balance that out with healthy things like staying hydrated, getting enough sleep, working out, doing yoga, and meditating.”

The ultimate indulgence:
“I love ice cream—cookie dough or mint chocolate chip. Soooo good!”

Her beauty routine:
“I love using a facial brush. I’ll also use a facial steamer when I’m really being self-indulgent (I definitely don’t do that every day). But I have found that with the makeup I have to wear every day and with all the travelling, there’s really no better way to get all of that off than with a brush. I’m a fan of anything with some sort of exfoliation and will use that every few days—I think it’s important to get rid of the dead skin cells. Another trick that I’ve recently tried is lavender oil. Lavender oil is a natural disinfectant. Use it on your nose or where you tend to get black heads—it does an amazing job. And finally, sometimes I use coconut oil as a moisturizer.”

Why her beauty trick involves no products:
“In terms of beauty tricks and hacks, the only thing I can say I really took away from pageants would be confidence and knowing how important it is to go in to a room and feel comfortable in order to look your best. That’s the best advice I could give somebody. It’s all about how you feel and how you carry yourself.”
