If there is one season we like more than summer (yeah, yeah, we know we’ve said it before—but the winter up here sucks), it’s sale season. We won’t lie, the moment our mailbox pings us those four small words “Net-A-Porter Sale On Now,” we drop everything—after we’ve forwarded to everyone in our office, that is—and delve deep into the 40%-off shoe section. We mean, they're practically free!
Friends, that moment is now. So we’ve dedicated this week’s editors' picks to the things we’ve been eyeing for months, but are just now finally clicking 'buy.'

There is this thing that happens to me when I think there is a possible way to get a deal. It’s not that I’m cheap per se, more that I feed off the sense of accomplishment. Like, nothing really compares to winning a bid on a Céline blouse on eBay for $20 (this happened) or finding a mint condition Burberry trench (yes, in the signature tan) at the secondhand store… for $30. I could go on about the scores I’ve had but I’ll spare you fine folk the essay. This Prabal Gurung jersey top and these MMM sandals give me that particular rush I’ve described above. As for the denim…well, in the past few months, every person I’ve complimented seems to be wearing J.Crew. There's no time like sale time to get my hands on a pair.

Did someone say SALE? It's still summer, so I say dungarees, coveralls, overalls—whatever you want to call them. I love them and have been living in mine—they're from Primark, so I deserve a new pair. This tweed Moschino pair will take me from a casual day to night, if that floats your kind of boat. And let's be honest, it's not quite summer (way up here at least) so to keep warm while I'm season pushing, a pink faux fur coat can keep me cozy on colder patio nights. And why not jump on the whole Birkenstock-esque wagon with comfy Isabel Marant sandals? My feet will thank me, right?

Is it just me or does nothing (or at least nothing I spend time looking at) actually ever seem like it’s really on sale (read: cheap)? Truth is, I want beautiful, well-made designer goods as much as the next person, and, yeah, I’m pretty good at rationalizing a purchase if there’s even a fraction of a percent (any percent!) off. So, I’m all in for these Proenza mules, which I’m pretty sure are the perfect summer shoes (boyfriend jeans, gauzy dresses); this Simone Rocha top (anything with her label on it, though); and this Aurélie Bidermann ring—I’ll wear it everyday, so it’ll actually pay for itself by fall.

My method of online shopping goes a little something like this: I furiously scour the interweb, spend way too much time mulling over color and size, then fill my digital shopping cart with abandon. No dressing and undressing in poorly lit rooms or aggravating salespeople. With just a clickity-click, my dream wardrobe manifests itself. Then I ditch it all, close tab and peace the eff out, forgetting about every piece I absolutely had to have two seconds prior. Sale season, however, is a different monster—one that rears it's ugly head with regret. I feel bad for mindlessly shopping, but I feel even worse for passing on a (up to 50% off!!) Net-a-Porter sale. Who even does that?! So I decided, instead of fake shopping at full price, I'm gonna real shop when the numbers are slashed. To commence the sale pledge: a pair of hardworking wooden-heeled Céline sandals—a shoe that truly embodies the desk-to-drinks mentality, right? A wear now, wear later, wear alllll the time, British sport and '80s hip-hop (my favorite things, FYI) inspired sweater; and a basic leather tote in not-so-basic cerulean with maximum schlep-ability. Pressing checkout now, I swear. #commitmentissues begone.

It's hard to say no to on-sale Saint Laurent as it is, but there is no way I could not add this to my checkout bag. The size makes it perfect to toss in a bigger tote for day and ideal for nighttime essentials. Plus, the stars add just the right amount of sparkle to an all black ensemble, but are also neutral enough to go with a pattern. And while I admire women who wear heels during the day and sometimes even wish I was one of them, it's just impossible for me. Enter the perfect solution: these Dolce flats. Comfortable enough to wear all day running around to meetings and in the office, but chic enough to make a statement and wear right into evening. My life consists of hunts for the perfect version of various things: crop tops, comfortable flats, trousers and, of course, the perfect LBD. I think I may have found it in this Rosie dress—business in the front and a party in the back!
