Television Presenter; Writer. London
London and rain: they go together like Los Angeles and In-N-Out, peanut butter and jelly, Jenna Lyons and a good pair of trousers. And there's no better refuge from dreary, gray London drizzle than a dreamy loft situated in the city's East end, all impossibly high ceilings, airy windows, lush greenery and succulents. Oh, and a sunshine yellow marabou feather miniskirt that wouldn't look out of place on Big Bird. That definitely helps, too. Ditto a cheery Mary Katrantzou skater dress and retro Moschino sweater. And for that, we thank Angela Scanlon. As it turns out, the television presenter and writer is just the person to run into (okay: our shoot was definitely the result of meticulous planning and scheduling rather than a spontaneous run-in, but bear with us here, K?!) when you're in need of the precise opposite of gray. From that hair (our love-cum-jealousy for natural redheads is well-documented) to her wardrobe, which is the perfect mix of high street pieces (the sky blue Topshop statement coat we're still kicking ourselves for not snapping) and punchy, high-end accessories (her superhero Stella McCartney tote and aquamarine, scalloped-edge Louboutins)—Scanlon has the whole infectious energy thing down pat. As Scanlon effortlessly sorted through a myriad of outfit options (swingy, tassled Isa Arfen skirt? Check. Blue Mets tee with a so right-right-now brown suede miniskirt? Double check. Enormous, beyond boyfriend DSquared jeans? Triple check.), we talked the dance-all-night ability of her favorite shoes (those gold Louboutins have gotten some serious mileage). And true to her sunny self, Scanlon was more or less game for whatever we challenged her to––but then again, we didn't go so far as to ask her to model that head-to-toe Fendi ski outfit (right down to the helmet) she pulled out for us. Maybe next time?
