Hair has been a major topic in my life lately—it seems like everyone around me is contemplating their hairstyles as the seasons change. Maybe it's subtle layers on the horizon, or a bold pixie chop—the possibilities are endless.
Throughout the fall, the haircut trends centered around love layers, ripped bobs, and wispy bangs—so much so that some of us couldn't help but commit to one or two of these trends ourselves. Runways gave us permission to embrace imperfection, texture, and lived-in hair, and Zendaya kept tempting all of us to just cut it all off. This winter, we expect the bob to keep prevailing, bangs to keep proving they're not a sign of an identity crisis, and long, healthy, luminous hair to remain the ultimate flex we're all working toward.
Ahead, 5 expert-approved haircut trends that will be everywhere this winter.

Luxury Layers
Connor Ives SS26 // Spotlight LaunchmetricsThis winter, consider naturally healthy and voluminous hair the ultimate flex. "I don’t think long, beautiful hair is ever going anywhere, but I think we’re moving away from overly styled, perfect waves. I love long, soft layers that make hair look really full and healthy," celebrity hairstylist Clayton Hawkins says. "A big bouncy blowout, a few hot rollers, and a little SexyHair Powder Play at the roots are my favorite tricks for getting that expensive-looking volume."
According to Rodger Azadganian, the founder of äz Craft Luxury Haircare, this trend reflects a collective nostalgia for the '90s supermodel era. "Long hair continues to embrace the glamour of the ’90s supermodel era, with inspiration from iconic looks like Cindy Crawford’s voluminous layers," Azadganian says. "Long, curly hair can beautifully embrace this same layered approach. "The key is to work with the individual curl pattern and account for shrinkage, ensuring the layers complement the overall silhouette both when the hair is worn naturally curly and when styled differently."
For layers that embrace the '90s bombshell aesthetic, celebrity hairstylist Danielle Priano suggests asking your stylist for long layers and face-framing pieces tailored to your features, while keeping the perimeter full.
Rocker Shag
Louis Vuitton SS25 // Spotlight Launchmetrics The shag hasn't gone anywhere—it has simply evolved. This winter, we can expect to see softer, more wearable shag haircuts. "We'll see shorter layers through the crown, a piecey fringe, and longer, wispy edges. It has attitude, but it should still feel touchable. It gives the hair personality and works beautifully with natural movement," Priano says. "Ask your stylist to customize the layers and fringe to your texture, keeping enough weight so the ends don’t look thin. Diffuse natural waves, or add a few loose bends to straight hair, then finish with SexyHair Texture High Tide Texturizing Finishing Hairspray. Use your fingers to separate the pieces so you keep that undone feeling."
The Blunt Cut
Sandy Liang SS26 // Spotlight Launchmetrics We've collectively embraced live-in hair that showcases natural texture and imperfections, but clean, perfect lines still have their time and place—and will be everywhere this winter. "Blunt cuts are making a statement, particularly at lengths above the shoulders. The beauty of this shape lies in its clean lines and strong perimeter, with hidden layers providing movement without compromising the silhouette," Azadganian says. "The key is understanding where the cut lands in relation to the neck and shoulders to create the most flattering result. äz Craft Luxury’s Amplify Texture Spray can enhance separation and definition, applied to both damp and dry hair."
Azadganian notes that this shape also works well on textured and curly hair. "A strong perimeter creates a beautiful foundation for curls; the cut should be customized to account for shrinkage and the way the curls naturally expand and fall," he says. "The goal is a defined silhouette that feels intentional without sacrificing the hair’s natural movement."
The Retro Bob
Tolu Coker FW26 // Spotlight LaunchmetricsFrom boyfriend bobs to long bobs, the cut will always trend in some form. This winter, we're prepared to see vintage-inspired bobs everywhere. "I’m loving shorter cuts that have a little personality! Think chin-length bobs with flipped-out ends and lots of bounce. It’s a little retro, a little cheeky, and so easy to dress up," Hawkins says. "I love using a round brush to flip out the ends and finishing with SexyHair Spray & Play Hairspray to keep everything in place while still letting the hair move."
The Bixie
Photo: ShutterstockWhy choose between a bob and pixie cut when you can land somewhere in between? Zendaya rocked this in-between trend for a while, and now we all suddenly want a bixie cut. "Women are going to want to cut their hair, and I credit someone like Zendaya for this shift. The influence she has and her hair journey from a bob to a geometric bob, then a short pixie that was almost childlike," says Garren, celebrity hairstylist and co-founder of haircare brands R+Co and R+Co BLEU. "It shows you can be any woman you want to be as long as you have the confidence and can be creative and confident."
