Allow us to paint an all-too-relatable scenario for you: it’s the dead heat (pun intended) of summer, and you’re straight out of the shower. There’s a very good chance you have precisely zero interest in so much as touching a blow-dryer…only you also want to avoid the flat, frizzy, unkempt thing that all too often comes with skipping it. Sound familiar?

We know firsthand that when your hair looks good, you usually just feel…better. It’s almost like once you have your hair all figured out, everything else just kind of falls into place. In this series with Bumble and bumble, we demonstrate how to make that happen without touching a single heat tool. Seriously. Here, our assistant digital campaign manager, Maddy Lyon, shows us how to revive a head of hair that’s seen even the most brutal of cardio-focused workout classes (without touching a blow-dryer).

Ah, the eternal dilemma of post-gym hair: to wash, or not to wash? Each decision, of course, comes with its own set of consequences—saving on time but dealing with grease and grit; or working with freshly washed hair and your gym’s ancient, itty-bitty hair dryer.

No matter what road you go down, we’ve finally found the routine that allows you to simply style and go—whether that’s straight out of the shower or immediately after a class. As Maddy demonstrates, it turns out all it requires is two products—ideally followed by a sunshine-filled, leisurely walk to your first stop of the day, sipping an iced coffee. It *is* summer, after all.

Want more air-dried summer hair how-tos? See them all here.

1. To soften, detangle, and tame flyaways, spritz Bumble and bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Heat Protective Primer through damp hair. Comb through.

2. For sleek, touchable hair, use a dime-sized amount of Bb.Don’t Blow It (Thick) to work through lengths, squeezing and twisting as you go.

3. Air-dry.
