Everytime the weather drops after a scorching summer, we don't know how to handle it and feels like the first time we're being tested with doing so—and this is coming from someone who grew up on the east coast and experienced winters for all her life. So, how do our wardrobes adapt? We do whatever we can do hold onto the styles that we wore when the weather was warm, and whatever is needed to be able to do so without constantly feeling a chill. In this instance, the trick to making any heel—strappy open-toe sandals, classic pumps, and slingback kitten heels—cold weather appropriate is the simple addition of a sock. While keeping you warm, they also add a laid-back element to any look that feels inherently cool.
