Getting Ready With Scarlett Johansson For "The Jurassic World Rebirth" Premiere
An exclusive look into her pre-red carpet rituals.

Scarlett Johansson spent months filming in the jungle for "Jurrasic World Rebirth," where her character, Zora Bennett, is a covert operations expert leading a team through a DNA extraction mission. This means more often than not, she's traipsing through a muddy jungle wearing head-to-toe outdoor gear—which might explain why Johansson went the complete opposite route for her look at the New York City premiere of the film. "I really wanted to lean into more romantic, soft styles," she tells Coveteur exclusively. Her dress was an angelic, wispy gown from Givenchy, complete with a lace bodice and cascading chiffon layers; her glam was skin-focused—courtesy of her skincare brand The Outset's Prep Serum, which she calls her "desert island product"—with subtle sculpting and a glowy finish. The overall effect was angelic, ethereal and a far cry from anything remotely outdoorsy (though if anyone could traipse through a jungle in a Givenchy gown, something tells us Johansson could?).
Anyone who's been a part of a red carpet glam session knows the machine-like precision it can require, as stylists, glam teams, assistants, publicists and brand representatives all play a crucial role. At worst, it can feel stressful, or rushed—but for someone like Johansson who's tightknit with her stylist (Kate Young) and glam team (Hung Vanngo and Renato Campora), it can actually be a time to relax. "I always have a few hours of glam before any premiere and it’s a moment for me to get centered, listen to some music, and catch up with my team," she says. It's the calm before the storm of the premiere—though Johansson says she loves that part, too. "My favorite part [of any premiere] would be the energy of all the fans and getting to see the cast all together again—it’s truly the culmination of so many months of hard work and it feels great to celebrate," she says. As for her least favorite part? "Probably having to walk the carpet during a heat wave!" she says.
Ahead, Scarlett Johansson lets us into her getting-ready process before the New York premiere of "Jurassic World Rebirth," from her desert island product to her fairytale gown.
"Starting skin prep with our Rescue Balm. I can use it everywhere and it’s not greasy."
"90-degree days definitely call for a sleek pony."
"[I never skip] The Outset Prep Serum. I use it multiple times a day because it’s so hydrating and sits amazingly well under m ymakeup with no pilling. It’s the key to my skin looking and feeling healthy, especially during long press tours."
"The perfect Givenchy [gown]."
"Our Skin Survival Kit has been with me throughout the press tour."
"Sky high heels for the night."
"Glam done, time to get dressed and head to the carpet!
"One last look before the carpet."
