London Fashion Week just reminded us of a fool-proof way to liven up any look—the fashion tight, or, as we're calling them at Coveteur HQ, the fun tight. The fun tight exists in many forms: pops of color, dainty lace, and unexpected patterns. For the Fall/Winter 2026 season, we spotted them all over London Fashion Week, both on the runways and on the streets—a sign that this is a trend that will continue to persist into fall.
Colored and patterned fashion tights first hit their stride in the mod heyday of the 1960s, styled with swingy miniskirts and made iconic by the likes of Twiggy. What started as a punchy pop of color quickly became something bigger: a graphic, youth-driven rejection of the beige status quo, and an early signal that personal style was about attitude, not assimilation. This is just another of many examples of the trend cycle being cyclical—as we move away from the era of quiet luxury, maximalism and color-clashing are once again emerging on the runways.

Bora Aksu Fall/Winter 2026 LaunchmetricsBeginning with Bora Aksu’s Fall/Winter 2026 show, lace tights added a new level of coquette to an already frilly, lace, and tulle-forward collection. However, the styling was unexpected—a pair of white lace tights was paired with a dark gray anti-traditional bride look, complete with a tulle cape and veil, for example. For Aksu, the tights contributed to his show storytelling, which explored the duality of darkness and light.

Sinead Gorey Fall/Winter 2026 LaunchmetricsOver at Sinead Gorey's Fall/Winter 2026 show, fun tights both complemented and contrasted. A shirt dress with drummer-boy military detailing was paired with a Penny Lane coat and argyle tights, and a belted leather mini skirt was paired with a baseball tee, Ushanka hat, argan tights, and yellow heeled sandals.

Gorey's runway perfectly demonstrated how a pair of tights can completely change up a look.

LaunchmetricsShow-goers and fashion lovers wholeheartedly embraced this trend, too. We spotted all forms of fashion tights on the streets of London, with animal print tights being a standout pattern. In one look, zebra-printed tights perfectly coordinated a blazer while simultaneously contrasting with a leopard-print bag; in another, tiger-printed tights served as the statement-maker of an otherwise black ensemble.

LaunchmetricsColorful tights in shades of rich burgundy, bright lavender and baby blue added an unexpected touch, clashing in the best way. One look in particular we can't stop thinking about: a show-goer paired Ashley Williams'' "I Heart Me" tights with leopard-print boots, a colorful fur-trimmed tweed coat, striped neck-tie, patterned knit, long pearl necklace, and more. Maximalism is back, baby.
