It has only been seven years since the brand's inception, and already OpéraSport is becoming a global name. At least, this was the feeling at yesterday's Spring/Summer 2027 show for the Copenhagen-based brand. In recent years, OpéraSport has held the opening spot for the bi-annual fashion week in the Danish capital, and on Monday, as models emerged into the center of Carl Jacobsen's Garden, it was clear why the brand is becoming a CPHFW golden ticket.

Awa Malina Stelter and Stephanie Gundelach have always done a good job at discerning Danish sensibilities within their collections, marrying techy, sporty separates with feminine silhouettes, and yesterday's show was no exception, creating a collection that has a developing dialogue with the brand and the environment. "Each collection is a natural continuation of the last," Stelter and Gundelach tell Coveteur. This season, that meant revisiting some familiar OpéraSport signatures: silk-fringed sash belts, shirts shrugged off one shoulder, and corset tops in embroidered silk or butter-yellow lace with floral organza appliqués. All of these elements, repetitions of shapes we've seen in previous collections but developed for the new season, astutely address seasonal trends with the through line of a grounded identity with these codes.

In its seventh year, there are things we can rely on OpéraSport to do: creating a buzzy, thematic show attended by plenty of Danish it-girls is one thing. Offering pieces that are going to thrive in the market is another, and this is something that the brand is balancing well as they scale the brand. Marrying fantasy with accessibility is a challenging task for any independent brand, but at OpéraSport, it feels second nature through an attention to detail—carefully placed logos, unique accessories, and tricky show styling—that feels entirely luxurious.

The collection also leaned into contrast, pairing metallic stretch-viscose capri pants and swimsuits with feminine tailoring and collarless silk jackets. Ruffles softened lace dresses and strapless tops, while midi skirts, lace belts, headscarves, and beaded waist chains made everything feel modern and trend-aware, signaling that Stelter and Gundelach have their finger on the pulse.

Florals ran throughout the collection, from embroidered fabrics to oversized orchids perched on a model's shoulder and a dramatic white floral headdress. For Stelter and Gundelach, they're a symbol of growth. "The collection explores both the beauty of nature and personal evolution," the designers say. "It is a very personal collection, celebrating new beginnings, change, and the beauty of growing, both as individuals and as a brand."

The best part is the dedication to the brand's design identity so early on. "Rather than reinventing ourselves, we focus on refining our design language while introducing new techniques, materials, and silhouettes." Stelter and Gundelach say. This was on full display this season. By the second exit, you were able to tell that it's an OpéraSport show, and this is exactly how it should be.
