The 2023 Met Gala is upon us! No, this event doesn’t center on an award show. There is, however, an elusive and unspoken award given only to a select few: those who understood the assignment. Each year, Professor Wintour doles out this year's homework for our roster of A-List celebrities based on the opening exhibit at the MET. This year’s theme is “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.” Between his eras at Chanel, Fendi, Chloé, and his eponymous label, there is plenty of inspiration for these celebs—aka their stylists—to pull from. Yes, Lagerfeld is known for his signature uniform and legendary silhouettes, but his aversion to tackiness is perhaps going to be the hardest for our beloved celebrities to capture. In Lagerfeld’s own words, “Don't dress to kill, dress to survive.”
