We'll say it again: the military jacket is officially back on duty this year. And yesterday, Margot Robbie arrived at the opening of the at the opening of 1539, the play that she produced, entirely onboard with this trend.

At the premiere, Robbie wore a black wool McQueen military jacket with gold embroidered frogging, with ultra low-rise trousers, pointed toe heels, and a McQueen Manta clutch. She wore her hair in a half up/half down situation, and was ready for a night out in the West End of London. The military jacket has been prominent on runways throughout 2026 and we can't help but feel like it's a sign of the times. Let's face it: 2026 is a sort of scary, unsettling, uncertain and, an utterly baffling time to be alive, so perhaps we're all seeking strength and armor anywhere we can find it—even through our choice of outerwear.

Prior to Robbie's night out at the theater, we've spotted stars like Dua Lipa, Jenna Ortega, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Demi Moore suiting up in their military jackets like 19th-century soldiers preparing to face the unknown and channeling a Napoleon-like energy. And, we all must admit: the military jacket creates a brave, commanding presence.
