A glimpse inside the closet of one of New York's real housewives was more than we could have hoped for. Upon opening the double doors of Leah McSweeney's lust-worthy closet, we discovered in-your-face prints, an impressive sneaker collection, and iconic references from the show. Fans will appreciate the appearance of one rhinestone-embellished mesh catsuit from a previous Halloween costume. And we would be remiss not to mention the strapless spandex Lil' Kim dress that features the mugshot of the superstar—referred to by superfan McSweeney by her full name, Kimberly Jones—in a repetitive allover print.

McSweeney stumbled into the fashion industry after she launched her slogan-wear clothing brand Married to the Mob as a ploy to travel for free in 2004. "I never had a business plan," she explains. "I also made tons of mistakes," and evolved the line in a sort of trial-and-error manner. It's that approach to business and life in general that led to the launch of her new book, Chaos Theory. In a style she describes as "part prescriptive, part memoir," McSweeney explains, "For so long I told myself that I was a fuck-up, but I've learned that everything was done perfectly because within a mess there is order. I think everybody can kind of relate to that."

Though McSweeney's vantage point in fashion has been learned, personal style was always on her radar. Born and raised in Chelsea, the OG New Yorker refined her fashion sense at local haunts, dropping names like Opening Ceremony, Antique Boutique, and A Second Chance. The RHONY star was inspired by rave culture, a notion evident in the provocative pieces she selects that toe the precarious boundary between humour, fashion, and controversy. Needless to say, she likes loud pieces, both literally and figuratively. Come with us as we piece through her iconic and highly-entertaining closet below.
