A fashion girl through and through!

Keeping Tabs: Kati Chitrakorn, Writer

Kati Chitrakorn is a fashion girl through and through—her taste speaks for itself. As a fashion and beauty journalist, author of "The Little Book of Issey Miyake," and formal external examiner for the Central Saint Martins' MA Fashion Communication course with ties to London, Bangkok, and Hong Kong, she knows everything about fashion business, runway trends, and how to communicate these themes in an accessible manner. Lately, when she's not sitting front row throughout fashion month, Chitrakorn spends her time trying new skincare developments, supporting independent East Asian designers, and listening to Mitski—oh, and did I mention that she has a forthcoming book about K-pop icons BTS releasing in September?

At Coveteur, we find immense joy in picking the brains of creatives and gaining insight into what they add to their carts when in a deep, ever relatable online shopping relatable. Ahead, everything that’s keeping Kati Chitrakorn busy in her off time.

What's Entertaining You?

Kati Chitrakorn

Reading:

"Lucien" by J.R. Thornton: "I received an advance copy of "Lucien," the latest novel by J.R Thornton—a dark academia thriller—so I've been making my way through that."

"Chinatown" by Oh Jung-hee: "I've also been enjoying "Chinatown" by Oh Jung-hee, who has been dubbed as the grande-dame of South Korean literature, though the author has had limited mainstream presence in the West and her book was only translated and released by Penguin last summer. It's cool to see her finally getting her flowers."

Listening:

"I am a big Mitski fan—my cat's name (Mitsy) is a play on the singer and "mittens" because of her four white socks—so I have been listening to her new album 'Nothing's About to Happen to Me; non-stop. The second track, 'Where's My Phone,' is this frantic exploration of modern anxiety and digital dependency, which feels like timely commentary on the loss of self in this chaotic, tech-driven world."

What's In Your Cart?

Medicube Booster Pro: "Like everyone, I have become obsessed with Medicube's Booster Pro. I normally get zapped by my facialist but the results (improved absorption and hydration) have been so apparent that I am seriously thinking about buying one for the home."

New Chanel shoes: "The new Chanel shoes by Matthieu Blazy (the ponyhair flats and colorful mules from the spring/summer 2026 collection are perfect for now—I wish I could get my hands on a pair!)

Clothes from independent East Asia designers: "Pillings (the fall/winter 2026 show looked so cosy and I'd love to own a hand-knitted skirt from Ryota Murakami, the Osaka-born designer behind the LVMH Prize nominated label). Setchu (one day I'll own one of designer Satosh Kuwata's modular, origami-inspired jackets), Renli Su (she's a very underrated Chinese designer whose work focuses on emotional connection over trends. A decent selection of her designs can be found at Dover Street Market - I can see myself wearing this cropped embroidered jacket). Commission (I have my eye on this quirky polka-dot number from Asian-American designers Dylan Cao and Jin Kay, whose New York-based brand is inspired by their backgrounds and '90s style), Shushu/Tong (I order a new cardigan from designers Liushu Lei and Yutong Jiang every season and spring/summer 2026 was no exception, I can't wait for my delivery this month!)

Acne Studios "Camero" Bag: "The new-season styles were just shown in Paris and won't arrive in stores until the fall but they come in delicious vibrant colors like bumblebee yellow and basil green."

Art: "I'm often discovering artists at the Cob Gallery in north London. My husband bought a Cat Roissetter mixed-media work from here the first year we moved in together and it now hangs above our piano. I've long been a fan of Jack Davison's photography and would love to own one of his works one day. He currently has a show at the same venue."
