Our Style Editor Has A Thing for Cashmere Socks and Timeless Watches
Shop her holiday wishlist.

What some call the holiday season, we call gift guide season. That means I, along with every other editor in the business, have spent more hours than I'd like to count perusing everything on the market. I've been identifying gifts for him, for her, for your aunt, your sister, your friend's cousin's fiancé, and, as one can imagine, I've flagged a few items of personal interest along the way. The items in question, otherwise known as my own fantasy wishlist, range from indulgent (cashmere socks) to opulent (a Cartier watch), all of which you can shop below.
The Danielle Sock
Few things feel more indulgent than a pair of cashmere socks. And I’m always eyeing the classic silhouettes from Jenni Lee’s Comme Si. I’m dreaming of wearing these with anything from mary janes to sandals to loafers—or, let’s be honest, lounging around my home.
Squiggle Pitcher
As is the designer herself, I’ve recently been obsessed with metalware, specifically more stark, retro allusions to mid century Italian design. Though this particular pitcher has just the perfect amount of playful spirit thanks to the squiggly handle.
Oversized Belted Raglan Sleeve Wool-blend Coat
I’m in the market for a new coat and I have a few specifications. I like the silhouette oversized (but not too oversized), the color to be simple, and the sleeves wide enough to contain my chunky knitwear. This Raey option checks all of those boxes.
Monte Bianco Dickey
In my wildest sartorial dreams, I am a woman clad head-to-toe in the finest Loro Piana cashmere. In the meantime, I'll be requesting this surprisingly practical accessory from those who love me the most.
Il Viaggio Di Nettuno Squared Pink Plate
In my eyes, anything Luke Edward Hall touches turns to gold. (My sister gave me his coffee table book for Christmas last year.) His collaboration with Ginori 1735 has, unsurprisingly, peaked my attention—who wouldn’t find delight in these illustrated ceramics?
Tuxedo Shirt
I am captivated by a really well-cut shirt the way others might feel about a taffeta skirt or a beaded blazer. A beautiful cuff can literally send me into a tizzy. Chava Studio, based in Mexico City, custom makes the most beautiful shirting and I’d absolutely love to get my hands on one of their classic tuxedo shirts.
Tote XL Super 100
I love what Rue de Verneuil is doing with their simple tote design. I have a mini on heavy rotation already but have been eyeing the larger size for a work tote or weekender bag.
Roma Heirloom Tomato Soy Wax Candle
Candles are tricky gifts—as is anything that pertains to scent. However, this tomato candle from Flamingo Estate is so evocative of cooking that I think it’s about as close to universally pleasing as one can get.
Annual Subscription
Cabana Magazine is more than just a magazine. These are stylish tomes as deserving of a spot on your coffee table as anything. Plus, I think a subscription is a fantastic thing to do for someone you love—truly a gift that keeps on giving. (And it only comes twice a year so you won’t end up with a dooming stack of unread magazines).
Tank Must de Cartier 22mm
I’ve spent years drooling over Cartier’s timeless Tank watch. They perfectly mix feminine and masculine elements in a design I’d like to wear essentially every day of my life.
Floral Frame Library Stamp
Due to my mildly absurd reading habits, I’ve accumulated quite a library. I love the idea of something to personalize the inside of my collection—and to make sure those I lend out return to their home.
French Press
I am very particular about my morning coffee ritual and I’m a French press gal through and through. Plus, it’s not lost on me how good this looks on my kitchen counter.
Pommade Concrete Hand and Foot Cream
I’m a sucker for nice packaging—and Officine Universelle Buly 1803 has definitely mastered that element. This hand creme would look excellent resting upon any vanity.
Concha Candle Algae
I can’t help but be drawn in by the concha dishware from Carolina Irving & Daughters. (Fair warning: it’s easy to quickly fall into the deep recesses of their well curated instagram feed). Instead of yet another dish, I'm currently eyeing these candle holders.
Margeaux Sweater 07
On the gloomiest of January days, all I can muster outfit-wise is a chunky sweater and pair of jeans—so I better make it a really good sweater, right? I’m hoping to don this hand-knit option from Janessa Leoné all winter long.
Stole
I’ll take any excuse to rest my weary soles and plop on the grass in Central Park. Needless to say, I keep park blankets in heavy rotation. This Longchamp one with geometric art by Kristine Five Melvaer is a rather elevated option, and it rolls up for easy (and chic) transportation.
Women’s Iconic Cotton Round-Neck T-shirt
Everyone appreciates a great t-shirt, no matter their style. Petit Bateau is a tried and true staple (with the Carolyn Bessette seal of approval). I have both their short sleeve shirts and tank tops, so the long sleeve rendition is top of my list.
Silver Nappa
I am having a very feminine shoe moment—nothing I love more than a menswear inspired look with a dainty (in this case metallic) choice of footwear. These Aeyde mary janes have the perfect toe shape and I’m obsessed with the silver shade of leather.
