Growing up, Eny Lee Parker knew she was destined for a creative path—and she quickly discovered that working with clay came seamlessly to her. "Becoming a designer was a practical pursuit of that," she says. After receiving her B.F.A. in Interior Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design, she, feeling impatient, pivoted to furniture design for her M.F.A. "I felt like interior design took too long and I wasn’t patient enough! I was also always more drawn to the materials, forms, and individual pieces of furniture we were specifying," she says. "At some point I realized I wanted to make the objects rather than designing the room around them."
That pivot uncovered a love for lighting which, in her words, "completely changes how you experience a room." And that love is reflected through Parker's new lighting collection with Lulu and Georgia, featuring pieces that perfectly toe the line between soft and sculptural. "This collection draws from still life and subtle gestures. I wanted the pieces to have a strong presence in a room but still be warm and easy to live with," she says. "There’s a tension I really like between something feeling substantial and grounded during the day, and then becoming much softer once it’s illuminated at night."
