For Dior Men’s spring/summer 2023 show, creative director Kim Jones looked to the past. Taking inspiration from Christian Dior’s childhood home in Normandy, France, Jones reimagined the runway as a garden on the grounds of the Church of the Val-de-Grâce in Paris. There were flowers in full bloom, fields of grass, and renderings of Dior’s birth home and artist Duncan Grant’s country cottage. The models trekked through the grass in pieces that complemented the outdoor environment, wearing gardener's hats, backpacks, camo jackets, cashmere sweaters, and Wellies. According to Jones, everything was “at once extravagant and practical, formal and informal, [betraying] a stratification of history but [evoking] an effortless contemporary existence.”

To complement the fashion, Peter Philips, creative and image director for Dior Makeup, curated effortless, no-makeup makeup looks for the models to accentuate their natural features. Philips prepped the skin with Capture Totale Super Potent Serum and Eye Serum to replenish and retain moisture, illuminate the skin, and improve plumpness. Then he applied Backstage Face and Body Primer 001 Universal and Face and Body Foundation for lightweight coverage. A light dusting of Backstage Face and Body Powder-No-Powder was applied over the foundation to set the look.
Philips applied Diorshow On Set Brow to fill, fluff, and set arches without a hard, flaky hold, and tapped Rouge Dior Velvet Balm 000 Dior Natural onto the lips to add a dose of moisture.
